They all gained hair except for the guy on Viviscal who stayed at baseline. The guy who received the HT had the best improvement (no surprise there). I was surprised that the guy who used the laser comb got pretty good results.

Excellent find. It concludes that 4 patients received very good results. I have to admit, the hair transplant was not all that - But then again, I’m assuming that because msnbc was paying for the procedure he received a very small number of grafts. The follow-up physician examining all 5 guys said “wonderful, you see a lot of new hair” No Shyt. He had a “hair transplant”.

What shocked me the most was the laser comb. I had huge doubts of it’s potential effects. Not only did he get thicker hair but he grew back new hair. Probably the safest way to go as well. No messy residue, no side effects, nothing.

None of the products worked on the front.

The laser method has got a HUGE following on another site. They insist that the power of the laser comb is not enough and they make their own laser helmets.

I think the program is a few years old by now. I remember seeing transcripts from it some time ago.

Sure, it’s worth noting that lasers gave some result. At the same time, that result could easily be random, placebo effect, attributed to something else, be due to normal cyclic changes in hair density or actually simply be poor measurements by the doctor.

Honestly, it’s almost impossible to make any conclusions from such a small test. There are so many factors involved. You need a large number of trialists in order to draw any kind of statistically significant conclusion. It would have been different if one method grew follicles on a bald scalp or produced undeniable regrowth which could not possibly be attributed to something else.

As mentioned above, homemade laser helmets containing hundreds (not 10 or so, as is the case with laser combs) are all the rave on regrowth.com. I’m not quite sure what to make of it yet. I have yet to see compelling, objective evidence that it is efficient, but I’m certainly not saying it’s impossible.
They are cheaper than laser combs, that’s for sure.
