Trying Regenica (from Histogen) on our head?

2013 is a long ways off.

But since Histogen has Regenica (its line of skin care products) on sale, has anyone ever thought of buying a bottle and trying it on their bald heads like minoxidil?!

I know its not the same as the stuff they have under test for hair growth. For one it lacks VEGF and other growth factors isolated specifically for hair growth. But i wonder if it would do anything at all for hair growth.

Anyway they have their line of Regenica on sale till 31st Jan at a reduced price. For those of you with nothing to lose :

If you do try it, report back on the results.

The cornerstone ingredient behind the Histogen Aesthetics rejuvenation system is ReGenicaTM. This proprietary complex is created by growing newborn fibroblasts, which are safe and non-controversial, in a simulated embryonic environment, and then harvesting the naturally secreted proteins, growth factors and other synergistic bioproducts that are produced.

ReGenica contains a diverse mixture of actives, including human growth factors such as Keratinocyte Growth Factor, soluble human ECM proteins such as collagen, and embryonic proteins which support the epidermal stem cells that renew skin throughout life.

ReGenica formulations are designed for optimal skin absorption, stimulating your own skin cells (keratinocytes and fibroblasts) to reinvigorate collagen and protein synthesis resulting in rejuvenated skin.

it’s only 2 years away, not really that far silly, that being said, I hope this is not going to be another minoxidil like product that only work for some people.

I’m trying with a dermaroller since 2 months but nothing is happened until now.

its not going to be 2 years away. its going to be 5 to 7 years away if we are lucky. take any timeline in this industry and triple it … and that’s if we are lucky.

well histogen has nothing to do with dermarollers. you are probably thinking of PRP.

just the dermaroller alone will not do jack. you need PRP injections (and Acell perhaps) along with it.

Dr. Hitzig has a few good pioneering ideas in this area of introducing stem cells and progenitor cells into the scalp which he discusses in his interview with Spencer on The Bald Truth radio show.

Anyway, here is a video on PRP + Dermaroller :

well for the US market, yes, but they are planning to introduce this in Asia first which is a very smart move, the regulations are not as strict in Asia, it will be a lot easier to launch a new product, I think.

Sorry I misunderstood you. So you have been trying it… without success. Thanks for letting me know.

What gave you the idea to try it ?

The spot where you are trying it on, does it have ANY velus hair or is it totally bald?

Keep us posted please about the results if you see any or if you don’t.

» What gave you the idea to try it ?

it has been discussed multiple times on this board… and he probably got the idea the same way you did… common sense?

There is somewhere a Histogen’s pdf where is indicateted that the “substance” active was the same, only at one-tenth in concentration.

Not sure WHICH pdf you mean - anyway, this one?

“Cell banks are created from fibroblasts derived from neonatal foreskin” [page 2]

There isn´t a problem to fly to asia Freddie555. But 7 years, no i dont think it will be that long for them to launch something in the US.

But in european regions well i dont know how long it will takes to get something on the market there.

The guys with the fastest treatment coming are asians, after that americans and europeans well its uncertain.

This skin product can not possibly work. It is not strong enough and derma-roller does not cause the required wounding. You are wasting time and money. It has been tried by numerous men and not one of them has gained even one hair. Again, the skin version is too weak and you are not able to do the required wounding with a derma roller.

You would be much better off if you sent emails to the management of Histogen telling them you would like to see their hair version of the product put on the market somewhere, anywhere, in the world. There are places that they could put it on the market. There are places that have NO regulatory requirements. They could do it and if enough pressure was put on them to do so there is a slim chance they might do it. I think the smartest thing to do would be for all of us to get every last man/woman we can who is suffering with hair loss and all of us bombard Histogen with emails complaining to them that we would like them to make the hair loss version of the product available somewhere, anywhere. I think that is our only chance to get it onto the market sooner. It’s a very slim chance but at least it’s a chance.

Do you want put them under pressure? Ok, we can declared that we’ll buy only the first avalaible , HSC or ARI, and wil boycott the second.
Hope they are listening me…

maybe you need to inject it into your scalp instead of putting it on and using a derma roller.

just a thought

» maybe you need to inject it into your scalp instead of putting it on and

guys are not going to be injecting stuff into their heads. You may think my idea of trying to put the company Histogen under pressure to release the treatment somewhere in the world where there is no regulatory requirements is unrealistic but I assure you that my idea of doing this has a greater chance of bearing fruit than the idea of getting guys to inject the skin version into their own heads and growing hair with this skin version even though the skin version is way weaker than the hair version. There is no way you are going to get guys to inject this stuff into their heads and even if you did they would not grow hair because they have to inject it properly to get the required wounding and also the skin version is way too weak to grow hair. Believe you me, it would be a lot easier to pressure the company to release the hair version somewhere in the world where there is little, or no, regulatory hurdles to cross.

It would be cheap to do it my way too. We don’t have to buy anything. All we would have to do is do a whole lot of organized emails from a whole lot of bald people to the company reminding them that they need the loyalty of customers to survice, and that there are other hair growth products advancing into the marketplace, and if Histogen wants our loyalty they need to start showing us some concern by being reasonable with us and making this product available somewhere in the world.

My idea probably won’t work but at least it has a chance. There is no chance that injecting the skin version into your head is going to work.

Salsa we would need to do some kind of organized emailing for a whole lot of us balding people. You saying it in Hairsite means nothing and they don’t even hear you. We need to organize a complaint letter to them and we need to have a lot of us sign off on it. We need to bombard them with as many emails as possible.
