I mean lol.

So we have schizoid/borderline WeWillWin

of course there are loads of depressed.

then there is this another guy who believes that if Michael Jackson went to some hair doc he worships he would have never died.

we also have couple of paranoid ppl who believe that government, and all kinds of powerful people try to stop scientists developing the cure.

Is there anybody sane in here?

I will very likely get FUE if by the end of this year there is still nothing promising, fed up with people like WWW wasting my time

I am the normal one here, been visiting this site since 1997, 13 yrs later still slick on top. You guys would all be best to get FUE’s as that is the only thing that works and there really isnt anyone close to doing HM. maybe 2020 will be the year but for now the science just isnt there to change nature’s course of making us bald. IT’S 2010 AND WE ARE BALD… alec

Except that Aderans is well into phase#2 trials right now, with no apparent signs of trouble so far.

Aderans is the only hope for this decade. I’ve lost faith in Follica (they aren’t even in trials yet, so they’re at least 8 years off), and there’s nothing else that is even close to trials (not buying Histogen’s outrageous claims and strange 6 month results). Its Aderans or a FUE. If I were REALLY bald, I wouldn’t hesitate to get a FUE right now. As I’m not, I can afford the wait.

My favorite nutters are the ones who think there’s a giant conspiracy preventing a real bald cure.

Agreed. It’s Aderans or bust.

Folica’s core idea might be great but they are easily a decade away.

Yup. If there’s no good news by the end of the year, I’m going to start researching a good FUE doc. I don’t need a HT yet, but I will in the next couple of years, and it will be the only option available. I’m not going to sit around going bald like so many others have, hoping that something miraculous happens.

Maybe no conspiracy theory but you can’t deny the fact that hair transplant doctors are nervous that some giant conglomerate like Adearns will come up with a cure and single handedly take away all their businesses.

And you think they have the power to derail a “giant conglomerate” or the pharma industry from marketing a better protocol?

Are you just trying to make yourself feel better, as if you’re above it all? I will never forget the post of yours that I read, claiming that crushing your head with your knees was a technique you were using to prevent your hairloss going any further.

I never said they had the power to do that, I don’t know, maybe they do or maybe they don’t, your guess is as good as mine, all I was saying s that it doesn’t sit well with the hair transplant doctors knowing that their career could vanish overnight.

They don’t. Feel better? They’re just a bunch of HT doctors. How would they derail it? Getting them to work together is like herding cats. And even if they did unite, they don’t have the resources to combat a multi-billion-dollar, multi-national corporation. Further, there is no multi-national that would torpedo a potential block-buster protocol just to protect the relatively poor-selling protocols that currently exist (Propecia doesn’t sell well, Dutasteride and Nizoral aren’t even approved or marketed for hair loss, and even Rogain sold poorly OTC until they released the foam). Its much more likely that they’d buy the new protocol so they could market it themselves.

As for their career vanishing, that’s unlikely, as they’ll just administer the new protocol instead of doing HTs.

Seems to me you’re an experienced man. I had my first HT in 1991. My last has been in 1998 - so what. It has been a long way for me since then - until TODAY. But for me, and I always knew that, is definitely today THE day. Believe me

and dont forget… people who open useless threads complaining about how useless other threads are (I’m talking about you, derbis)…

You are assuming that the new protocol will be shared or licensed, that may not necessarily be the case. If Aderans (owned by Bosely) is successul, I guess it will be in their best interest to keep the protocol within their own company only rather sharing with others, Bosley has a huge network of established clinics already, they can capitalize on this and make a lot more money selling the procedure themselves rather than licensing to competing clinics.

Once the procedure is really nailed down and starting to be commercially sold, they’ll never be able to keep a lid on it very long. If Bosley/Aderans won’t give the customers everything the technology really has to offer then someone else will. It’s only a matter of time.
