Slick bald NW7 – Relative goals: 8000 SFET - FUE Head and Beard grafts

If he buzzed his hair all the way down cut close,it would look MUCH better. As he is wearing his hair here,he would HONESTLY look WAY better bald.Im sure that the transplant work was well done but Wearing your hair in this manner(in the above photos) when the loss is so great looks dreadful. Either get more grafts or…just buzz the hair off.Seriously Best, J.

"Encouraged by this outcome, he has since added another 4500 grafts to add density, while maintaining the current hairline position. " - Dr. Umar

Reading. It’s a good thing.

Pfff Finally surgeon begin to work with your donor instead of only transplanting hairs from A to B so next stop please " FUE multiplication" THANK YOU

I don’t agree that he looks better bald, it’s a definite improvement but he would look better buzzed down.

We still don’t know how much of it is beard hair and how much of it is head hair.

Fair enough Skywalker. If he DID as it says, get an additional 4500 and THEN buzzed it down,he would look way better than being slick bald. All the best, J

Good grades for the yield but the design and artistic aspect of it is a different story.

» Ultimately we all want to be happy. Most of us focus our life’s pursuit
» toward achieving that goal. In the context of hair transplantation,
» setting goals to achieve happiness is profoundly relative.
»
» A patient starting off at a NW2 would probably desire a complete absence of
» recession as a HT goal. A NW4 patient would likely be ecstatic with a NW2
» look. What about a NW7 patient?
»
»
»
»
»
»
» I often see a broad range in this regard, from a NW6 who would be happy
» with a NW3 hairline to a NW6 who would like to get rid of all signs of
» recession. As a provider, the single most important factor in goal-setting
» is what the patient wants; what he or she would be happy with.
» Additionally, questions arise as to the provider’s skills and capabilities
» and the patient’s donor availability, personality, and disposition to
» persevere through a long and an arduous process. It is essentially a
» journey that the provider and the patient must take hand-in-hand in
» partnership to wherever the road leads.
»
» These insights were driven home in my recent encounter with a very
» pleasant, middle-aged man who had presented with an extreme bald state. He
» had been:
»
» 1. Summarily rejected by many clinics due to his lack of donor and the vast
» area of his baldness.
» 2. Offered strip procedures of 3000 grafts by others.
» 3. He has rejected the idea of using a hairpiece and the mental enslavement
» that attends it.
» 4. He has tried the shaved bald look to no avail.
»
»
» He presented to me at a critical point in his life when some life-altering
» decisions had to be made on the social realm. Choosing a slick NW 7 look
» would, by his estimation, irreversibly surcharge his potential socially.
» Moreover, he had about 1 year left to do something about it or settle for
» what the hand nature had dealt him in a slick NW7+ level of hair loss.
»
» He stated to me (I paraphrase): “I am not looking for a NW2 hairline and
» do not expect the density of a NW2.” He just wanted to look like a
» thinning man whose level of baldness did not detract from his image
» unjustifiably, in the manner he had thus far experienced with the current
» state of his hair loss. “Give me some hair, give my face a frame of sorts,
» but leave me looking naturally thin in the process. That is all I want.”
» My staff and I had the honor of working on this interesting man and being
» part of his hair recovery journey. At the end, we all felt incredibly
» enriched on many levels that go beyond the mere recovery of hair.
»
» This is the situation he found objectionable:

Truly amazing work Dr.Umar. This man was a Norwood 7. Wow!
For all you guys with negative responses, wake up. This guy has to be thrilled. Now he could manage his new head of hair anyway he wants.

How long did it take, from slick bald till he had hair in the pic’s?

~70% beard hair.

Although the patient disagrees with you on the grades for design and artistry, I gladly accept your generous grading on yield.

Excellent results!!!Good job!

BAD

This guy shoudln’t have wasted his time and money to look ridiculous.

he had a nice clean bald spot with no scars. He should have shaved his head comepletely bald…maybe then he would have changed his mind.

Doctors should advise their patients to try the shaved look before committing to a major transformation that might make them look worse.

This just goes to show the HT industry isnt that advanced yet to perform successful operation on norwood 7’s

The patient has tried the shaved look. He came with photos of himself spotting a shaved bald look that he tried for years. As the videos have revealed he prefers his new look to what he had before. Many would agree with this view.

Thank you for your input.

Everyone is entitled to judge with their opinion, but the fact is that the patient is extremely happy and he has transformed his life thanks to Dr. Umar… that is the point of hair transplant cosmetic surgery, to get the look you miss and want… Its great to know that a NW7 can now perform this, which was not possible 10 years ago… Bravo Dr. Umar.

Thank you for the response Dr Umar.

At the end what matters most is whether or not the patient is satisfied.

I guess my expectations are still too high

“I guess my expectations are still too high”

Pompodo, you have to remember that it is 70% beard hair. If it was 8,000 head hair grafts used then I agree it would be very disappointing but even though beard hair is generally better than body hair in most cases that have been shown it still gives very poor coverage compared to head hair.

Dr Umar, if possible, can you please post photos of what the patient looked like after the 4500 graft second round?
