This is what it said.
Description - The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of microdermabrasion on hair growth. The study may last up to 2 months and subjects will receive $750 for completing all visits and procedures. It involves 2 skin biopsies. Eight study visits are required. To participate in this research study, the subject will have to stop all other anti-aging treatments except emollients approved by the study doctor.
III. SUBJECT SELECTION
Inclusion Criteria
Caucasian males 20-50 years of age
Has male pattern baldness.
Exclusion Criteria
Current or recent use (within the past year) of isotretinoin (Accutane).
Is currently taking hormone therapy, or steroids or other immunomodulators (examples are methotrexate, cyclosporine) or has taken these medications within the past thirty (30) days (inhaled steroids are acceptable).
Currently using Rogaine or Propecia or used them in the past forty-five (45) days
Is immune compromised or undergoing therapy to treat an immune disorder.
History of keloids or hypertrophic scarring.
Additional inclusion and exclusion criteria will be discussed with you during the screening visit.
At the screening visit, we will have you read the informed consent and meet with the research staff. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions and time to consider whether or not you would like to participate in the study. If you decide to participate in the study, the study-screening visit will be performed.

ITS OBVIOUS THAT THEY WANT TO TRY THIS W/O SCREWING WITH THE IMMUNE SYSTEM.–SO THEY THINK ITS POSSIBLE TO GET HAIR W/O SUPPRESSION OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM THEN. THIS IS ACTUALLY GOOD NEWS. I HOPE THEY ARE RIGHT AND YOU DONT NEED TO SUPPRESS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM. They are obviously going to look close and see what pathways are upped and downed IN VIVO and see what they have to fool with to get a result like the human skin on SCID mice

Actually, I don’t think that’s entirely true.
They know (or strongly suspect) that their “cocktail” works. What they’re doing now is taking it apart and seeing what each element of the treatment does (if anything).
If they get the same results with just dermabrasion, then they may conclude that they don’t need the other stuff (unlikely). But all they’re doing is starting with just dermabrasion, then they’ll add element by element so they can determine what is doing what, and what is ineffective or not needed. They’ll probably be playing with immuno suppressants at some point.

» .YES… I DO NOT ONLY UNDERSTAND BECAUSE NOT POSTOU HERE ALSO.
Unfortunately I agree with Dastardly here. The fact that they’re not involving the immune system may not be indicating much IMO. It could just be more baseline data to compare various chemically-assisted results to later.
