Please - apology, because my English isn’t really perfect, but I don’t understand your sentence above:

Do you actually mean “THE THEORY of programmed aging is believed to be quite wrong” - ??

Thanks. But (just for instance) HE says …

Programmed ageing: the theory of maximal metabolic scope

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1369273/

I mean, you can’t “program theories”. I mean, per definition. :stuck_out_tongue:
You can construct/build/make theories, but you can’t - per definition - “program theories”. And if you google “programing theories” - you’ll NOT find any appropriate contexts.

If you look at the links that I provided, you can read “Programmed theory of aging”, it’s not that I have expressed it that way, I guess you were joking, and if I google it I get … 5.180 results. When it says programmed it refers to aging, of course, and yes I guess you could say “The theory of programmed aging”, and it obviously means the same thing, an outdated theory, by the way. Nowadays, they think that aging “is the product of evolutionary neglect - a lack of evolutionary pressure to live longer - not part of some grand design to clear the way for future generations” as you can read here :
