Question about the FUE

hey everybody.
im 24 and had one strip procedure ( 4000 grafts ) placed in my front area.
im gonna have 2000 more in my crown.
so my question is the following.
After that second strip session, i wouldnt be able to have another one.
so, how many grafts in total can be extracted if i have an average density, from the back of my head , and on the sides with the FUE method ? not in one session, but in GENERAL. in 5 sessions if needed.
does anybody know.? ive been looking for answers and havent found any yet.
thanks in advance for your help !
regards

I think 8000 is probably near the max for most people, that is a strip-fue combo. If you are just gonna do fue then forget about it, almost nobody can get 8000 by fue alone, I think you are on the right track, strip-fue combo will most likely give you the max grafts possible.

Of course, the only true way to know how many grafts you have available is to see the Doctor in person so he can examine your donor area. With that being said, if you have normal density in your donor then pulling 8,000 grafts using FUE should not be a problem.

Take for example Burberry. He has already had close to 6,000 grafts using FUE and he is scheduling another procedure with us very soon to address zone 3. that should put him close to 8,000 grafts FUE, and I would say his donor is average in density.

6 month ago I had my first FUE procedure done at the Alvi Armani clinic in Toronto that consisted of 3552 grafts to restore my hairline zones 1&2 and 2 month later I went for my 2nd fue procedure of 2300 grafts for the crown. My donor area is in a perfect shape healed fast and my grafts are growing rapidly.

I sent some pictures of my donor area to Dr. Armani and he commented that it looks very good and for that I will be going in for my 3rd procedure to finalize my crown and that should be it for me. I am very happy with my results as you can see in my before and after pictures posted on my blog.

I’m not sure if this is a silly question or not but I’ll ask it anyway… If a FUE procedure is done, can the follicles from the donor area that was used be used again for a future surgery?

No. The follicles that are “used” are extracted and moved into the balding areas.

So afterwards you just have a couple thousand tiny holes on the back of your head to heal up. (They’re slightly over a millimeter in size generally. The exact size depends on the doctor’s tool size, and that varies depending on several factors.)

No new follicles regrow in the holes as they heal. Just regular skin with a small amount of scar tissue.

So it’s the same old supply problem as with any other method of hair transplants. Whatever amount of hair that is ultimately gained on top/front is also being permanently lost in the back/sides. (And usually there’s a net total loss of some grafts, because the survival rates of the ones being transplanted are not perfect.)

FUE is just a different way to remove the grafts in the back. The scarring is not gone with FUE, but it’s much less visually obvious than a strip HT surgery when your head is buzzed down short.

Burberry:

Do you have your latest update here for all of us to view (including the donor)?

Out of 5800 implanted grafts how many of them are actually growing?

Pat:

A question for you: What is the highest number of grafts extracted via FUE by your clinic as of today?

Hi Burberry

I believe a lot of members of this forum would love to see an FUE donor area after close to 6000 grafts. Could you have this arranged ?
