I’ve been on Propecia for over 5 years and I did notice this year that the effectiveness has diminished somewhat. I hear that Avodart has a serious shed phase. Has anyone experienced shed and then never got that shedded hair back? I’m thinking about taking the 0.5mg avodart, but that “crazy shedding” kind of scares me. I was looking through this forum and most people post about their massive shed but then never come back to update their status.

I did, lost hair @ 1st, mostly in the back. Im about 10 months in and i can tell you it regrew and looks thicker. No tits growning either, my HT is comming along, my hair looks so much better then when i was 25 and im knockin on 30 now!

I also noticed a massive shed, even in the occipital areas. I’m 3+ months in and am curious at what month did you notice it coming back. Could you actually see terminal hairs coming in or does it appear thicker?

I had the massive shed, so i decided to stop and use the gel topically on my scalp instead so that I don’t end up wasting the stuff.

You could try and up your propecia intake as well, see if that ups the effectiveness, if you didn’t want to make the jumpt to DUT.
