Follica pretty much knocks-back skin cells (via some form of abrasion), and tricks them to heal back as follicles rather than just skin (via some FDA approved drugs). Follica’s patent is available for all to see, and plenty of people are playing around with the concept via home-brew experiments.

There’s not much to say about Follica that hasn’t already been discussed (simply because they decided to stop press releases).
