i’ve tried using minoxidil 5% a few times but i can’t stand the way it makes my hair so greasy. if i apply the minoxidil and let it absorb for say…about an hour and then wash my hair will it still be as effective as leaving it in my hair all day? i hope this makes sense and any info will be greatly appreciated.
While I am certainly no expert at this, it is best to leave it on for several hours. I, too, cannot stand the way it feels, so that is why I apply it only at night.

thanks for the reply. i wear my hair kind of long so the minoxidil ends up all through my hair and it looks like an oily mess. I’m just curious how long it take to absorb into the skin.
Do you use a syringe pump instead of this silly sprinkler that usually comes with minox packs? I use a syringe pump (= a syringe whose needle I take off) and thus reach under my hair that I have BEFOREHAND combed. This way the grease is confined to the root.
