According to your formulation/deliberation/thoughts? - a “Trail” defines mainly the reason/aim/intention WHY is somebody or something “following something or someone”. That means, WHAT is the reason, WHY “a horse” or “a cow” is following the trail/path/track. But is the “horse” or “cow” forced to follow the trail/path/track ?

Thinking along these lines, I think, when some researcher talks about mice trails, we must conclude that this researcher’s ship is sinking.
He (the researcher) is following the mice trails trying to escape his terrible fate (bankrupcy).
On contrast, the good researcher follows the human trails, which lead to the bridge. And once there, the researcher will be able to command the ship. He will try to reach a safe port, although the journey is difficult, and the success unsure.
Other researchers prefer not to follow any trail, but playing violin instead, and charge the audience for it. The audience will not realize of the danger, and will sink with the ship, while the violinist will escape with the money in the last minute.

to make things short, i dont care if its called trial or trail. Everybody knows whats meant by this so another useless thread just to light a fog candle.
