Laminin-511 - "could be available for humans in just two years" -07 Aug 08

it doesnt work! Some user from the biggest german hairloss forum tried it the last 1-2 years and nobody got signifacant results. Dont waste your money!

I had two sessions (every 6 months). Perhaps it slowed down the hairloss but i didn`t saw any regrowth.

JT, what NW are you? I’m NW6 @ 26 and I also get those headache, seems like muscular tension and it’s always in the temple region. Do you also get those in the temple region?

Somebody suggested that Acell might contain Laminin 511/521 in this thread. In other words, we might have access to Laminin 511/521 now.

NW 5A. My headaches occured due to stress tension all across the hairline, especially in the center. The Botox reduced this to almost nothing and my daily headaches went away.

The FULL Laminin-511 study is a 15 page file (1.95mb) that isn’t freely available on the net yet.

However, i have just obtained a copy and uploaded for everyone to view/download.

Enjoy.

Cheers, col

Do I undertand it right that this is about forming new hair follicles from scratch and not rejuvenating?

Hello rev,

If you check wiki on Extracellular matrix - Wikipedia you can see that the laminins are Non-proteoglycan matrix ECM components that are produced intracellularly by resident cells in touch with ECM…

It’s interesting that Botox took care of your headaches. As long as I can remember I’ve always had headaches along my temples (exactly at my hairline area). And as my temples became bigger, the headache has also moved along with it. For this reason, I always suspected a link between headache & hairloss.

Btw, a Homeopathy doctor assured me that Arnica oil will take care of my hairloss. It turns out that arnica oil has anti-androgenic properties, plus it’s primarily used for muscle (pain, sprain, spasm etc) relief - I doubt it’s a coincidence.

I think alot of people with hairloss suffer with some kind of pain associated with it. But it seems to get dismissed as phantom pain which is code for we couldn’t care less it’s not our problem.

goata007:

My headaches were quite bothersome. They would start around noon and get almost unbearable by about 5:00 p.m. I think that they had a lot to do with stress and the tension in my scalp muscles from the stress. I found that I was always “flexing” my scalp muscles. It is hard to describe, but open your eyes very wide so that the muscles above your eyes and forehead are lifted upward and your eyebrows move upward. This is how I would find my muscles “locked” by 5:00 p.m. each day. This would not subside until I went to sleep that night. The botox worked great for this, because i could no longer “flex” these muscles as they were “deadened” by the botox. Since the botox has worn off, I do not notice the tightness in my scalp.

Yes, inflammation is a key component in hair loss and undoubtedly leads to pain and discomfort.

Jtelecom, has your botox worn off yet? do you get headaches now? and have you seen any hair regrowth?

But it looks like the article was written back in 2001?

» Well dont forget it worked on mice  I mean. We have seen this before
» havent we?

Really starting to hate all those mice. Lucky bas*ards, everything works for them.

Hi Goata007:

Sorry I did not see your question. The effects of the Botox lasted for about three months and completely wore off in May. Oddly enough, my serious scalp tension has not been very bad since the injections.

How come the board doesn’t discuss more about this? I am nervous downloading files from the internet, can someone post or upload the 15 page study here? is it worth looking into ?

yes, that’s strange because we’ve always talked about things we don’t have a clue

Did anyone else notice the words “sonic hedgehog” in the second post? What’s that about?!
