Is it OK to Pop or Scratch Pimples on Scalp?

After Hair Transplant, is it OK to Pop or Scratch Pimples on Scalp? I scratched some pimples in week 7 and some liquid with blood and hairs came out from the pimples. Did I damage grafts?

At 7 weeks the grafts are firmly in place in your scalp, you are fine.

Agreed, I wouldn’t recommend scratching or popping them, but if one does pop or you scratch one at 7 weeks it will not dislodge the graft.

The pimples are signs of infection. You should avoid touching the recipient area. That’s the easiest way to get the area infected. Talk you your doctor. Ask him for a topical anti-biotic.

It’s OK to touch the recepient after first 10 days or 2 weeks. How do you wash your scalp or apply minox without touching the recipient area? Pimples after HT, at around week 7, are rarely a sign of infection. It is usually a good indicator that the hair beneath them are ready to sprout. However, if you are experiencing a large number pimples, you may want to contact your hair transplant surgeon to make sure it’s not folliculitis.
