Here’s the deal with Acell
Someone posted something about Acell.
I looked at the links and became interested in this product. I thought it had the POTENTIAL to regenerate removed donor tissue and hair (because I saw the vet. pics which did so)
I called the company and ran this idea by them. They said that people had brought this up before (but focused on regenerating the hair in the recipient area). They stated that they didn’t know “how deep” to go (because of the hormones affecting this region) so they didn’t think that it would help with hair loss. When I stated that I thought it would be better to regenerate removed donor tissue (and hair) they said “that just might work”. Over several conversations with them (on the phone) they seemed to be fairly confident that it would regenerate removed donor tissue and hair.
I then posted about this here because I thought it might be of some interest to some of the members. I put together a letter to send to the HT docs and compiled a list of e-mail addresses (with the help of some forum members).
I sent the letter to about 60 docs and a few showed interest. One in particular (doc j) used the product and was transparent with his results. His procedure failed, but I personally believe he made some mistakes due to the fact that it scabbed up (and it is not supposed to).
I believed it must not work due to the fact that I didn’t hear anything about it and if it worked…we would have heard something.
I didn’t hear anything about it until it was recently posted on this site that some other docs are using it.
I have no idea if it works or not. Personally, I’ve lost faith in it also. I think that the docs must know if it works by now and since we’ve heard nothing confirming that …it’s not a good sign.
Reguardless, since we will probably have 10 years or so until HM (at least that’s what most of you are saying), I’m still interested in reading (and posting) about it.
Some say I was paid promote Acell…I wish that were true. I did it because I believed it had a chance of regenerating donor tissue and hair and I just want my f&%#ing hair back! Believe whatever you want, and I don’t have the time or motivation to back and forth about this.
As far as Iron Man goes…I really have no idea what his deal is. He’s very hard to understand. I can’t tell if he supports Acell or is against it. Nor do I care. I personally believe he is here for attention (that’s pathetic) and probably posted under some other name before…and maybe still does.
Anyways, I’m still glad some docs are using it. I’m curious to see what (if any results ) they get. It costs me nothing to follow it (and as far as I know, it doesn’t cost anyone here anything to follow (or not follow it)).
