I got my first HST hair stem cell transplant

Hi everyone,

I got my first HST a week ago.
Got 1800 grafts.

Am waiting and curious of the result.
Who else did it? I thought iron_man was planned for the same period.
Any news???

Congrats!! And thanks for postimg your experience. Where did they place the grafts? I would like to get a similar amount in zone 1 and 2 to get the hairline i want. Do you plan on sharing some pictures?

Hey, I had mine last week too. My results are good. I think 10-20% of my grafts shed around day 8, but the majority are still in. I’m happy with my result so far (day10-11). It’s a little thin, and the hairline is higher than I’d like it, but none of these things are the technicians fault: I had some severe recession and only got 1400 grafts. Considering that, I’m surprised how well it came. It’s really natural looking and there I can not detect any scars. There are still hairs sprouting in the donor. The regeneration in the back is a little annoying, but obviously a problem I’d like to have, and it’s not that bad at all, more of an observation than a complaint. Also, as for the thinness, I think it’ll get better over the next 8-12 months. I may book another treatment next year. It’s honestly the best money I’ve ever spent. No car, house, vacation would make me happier than having a nice/decent/acceptable head of hair.

Do you think after 2-3 procedures you’d have a very good coverage with around 4200 grafts(1400x3). Enough to actually have different hair styles/grow your hair out or simply only that’s enough to shave and look dwcent?

That’s my main worry, even after 3 procedures not being able to growth my hair out, any input much appreciated

OK, so I got 1789 grafts on my zone 1 and 2…
they said I have an excellent donor so it made me very happy and I thought we might reach 2000 or more but in some area, my skin was kind of not making it easy (thickness I guess) but still, they managed 1800…

I will tell you a bit more about me.
I will be 33 in two months, I have an encyclopedic knowledge about hair loss as I was afraid of getting bald since my 16 years old.
My dad is 63 and class 7 but was already a good class 5 at 28…4 of his brothers are awesomely full of hair and one is bald class 7.
On my mum side, only full head of hair.
I always prayed that I would follow the mum’s leaps on this.
I am class 3 at 33 with no treatment…I always refused to take pills ruining my hormones (and I’m glad), neither being the slave of a topical…I only took vitamins.

During all these years, I’ve read…I knew about dr Gho back in 2003 already and all the forums about hair multiplication…this gave me the will and the force to resist and wait!!! and now we are in 2012…I had a decent twenties with hair (not Brad Pitt Norwood 0 but let say a Jean Dujardin half and half type… I enjoyed a youth with haircuts, wearing head gear for the annoying moments, I dated plenty of girls without asking myself too much questions…)
Enough for my biography…
I live very near Dr Gho clinic, just next door, two hours train (I’m living in a neighbour country, I even speak their language (dutch)).

I’ve found out that Gho finally succeeded in his technique a couple of months ago trough scissor boy on youtube and made my decision for a first procedure in the 10 days after…
Before that, I was interested on Acell and prp and even did one session of acell in my sclap…
Again, I was more confident in pionners treatment then all this type of medication etc…

I’ve asked the crew of hair science institute about the density you can reach, I even said that my plan was to reach my 20’s head of hair…
They told me that their technique allowing to use and re-use the donor zone, would allow me to reach a maximulm of 50 grafts per cm2 and that a normal non balding person has between 52.5 and 65 grafts per cm2!!!

This, really confirmed me that I would go for it!!!
They also told me about a person who had already 8 procedures and is still going on!!!
When you check Gerard joling case, it’s obvious they can quiet fix the thing!!! just a pity it takes such a ling time!!!

I made them laugh, saying that I call my procject with HST, the Benjamin Button project!!!

To answer your question about the nulmber of grafts, I would again refer to joling or even to a Dr C case, wassup who got 8300 grafts in total of 6 years and was back in a good position on Norwood!!!

Sorry for my english, I’m french speaking,

let’s keep on talking and trying to predict our bright futures!!!

I’dlike it to be a bit cheaper…when do you think we will get there???

  • one last word!!! What makes me very happy, is that even if it’s not perfect, we remain almost untouched on the donor point of view and I’m sure, 2012 is only the beginning, we should be able to have even better things coming!!!baldness will be a personal choice in 5 years…

last little thing:

I don’t know if it’s a way to reassure myself but I even came to the conclusion that the very few loss in our donor zone (if 10% of 1800 each session = 180 grafts and I need 5 procedures, I only lose 1000 grafts, is not so bad considering that most of the people, guyz and even girls, go to the hair dresser to cut this part of the head shorter than the top or to make it less big!!!
What I mean here is that, bald or non balding people have more hair in this specific area and that losing 10 or 15% of density there is even more harmonious!!! I don’t know if I made myself clear!!!

Anyway! your turn!!!

Any Pictures?

Caddarik, i appreciate you letting us know about your background. How did it go with the other experimental procedures? Acell i think you said. And well about me if it benefits anyone. Im only 26 and was basically a nw 6 :/you so thats horrible especially for my age but i think my age is whats playing a big factor in my restoration. I started doing research on hair cloning mostly to see if there was any breakthroughs or close technolegy and came across this forum and dr.gho with hst ( wich i really appreciate all those who put a lot of work into this). Along the way i saw that a lot of people git results with minoxidil and finasteride. I started using minoxidil and have been getting great results!!! I use a microroller before i apply it at night and i have been getting regrowth all over the top. I am prob still considered a nw 6 except its not bare just looks thin. I stopped the finasteride because i was retaining water around my ancles because of it so i got to talk to my doctor. Anyway i would like to get a hst for my zone 1 and 2 once i save enough money and hopefully get more procedures in the future so wont have to keep using minoxidik forever.

Needhairasap what did you mean when you said the regeneration in the back is annoying? If it’s only about 10 days, did Dr. Gho say you can expect to see donor regeneration so soon?

I just mean you can get pimples etc. when the hairs break back through. It is slightly itchy too.

yes you can expect “regeneration” so soon. Gho extracts a small portion of the follicular unit, so the regeneration is really just the left-behind follicular unit healing. I think it can take 6-12 months for the hair to get fully back to normal, but the hairs will sprout in the back quite soon after the procedure.

Those who had HST done, can you please post some pics? especially pics of the back before the hair starts to grow long again.

help the balding brothers out here with pictures please.

all the written testimonials in the world is worthless without before-after pics.

thanks

Also why don’t we hear from the Doctor on Occasion? Let him give his opinion

of the case. If this is so great you would think someone from the clinic

would chime in.

Well from what i read he is really busy doing more important things for the balding community. Plus why bother he has his work and happy clients give testimony for him. And about the pics, i would love to see the before and after also but as far as im concern if someone took their time to post their experience even without pictures that is very helpful.

I really appreciate that you reckon the helpfulness for our reports!!!

I swa some pictures already, I did not need to have 1000 cases to make a try!!!
First of all, they published official studies, the got the brevet and patente, it’s protected and it upset other doctors!!!
They are busy in Maastricht, Amsterdam, London, Vienna, and more coming, this is meaningful!!!

the stem cells are the future, we know it, propecia is not healthy, minoxidil brings nothing really interesting, classic HT are too limited…

we are 14 days away from my intervention.
I have’nt really had a shedding, I removed my crusts at day 10, there was a lot of hair and scabs together but still I have my new hairline and new hair, I don’t know which percentage of it but it’s low density compared to the 1789 grafts of the D-day!!!

I will let them grow, from what i read in the study, it may take between 5 and 8 months to see the right density arrive…

My donor area has been itchy during those two weeks, it is a bit calmer now but it was weird, like you feel your hair growing trough the skin!!!
My girlfriend and my best friend assured me from day 5 that you can not even see anything was done!!!

Now, I’m more concerned about the future of hair multiplication, I hope some of your american or japanese scientists will improve or also bring a breaktrough treatment, and I hope they will be enough of them within 3 or 5 years, so that the business is broader, more open and less expensive for consumers!!!

Last thing, Gerard Joling will be interesting to follow in a couple of months, he had already reached a nice (still not crazy heavy density but)density, but know with his 1700 grafts with a stronger HL and vertex, i’m wondering!!!

» Well from what i read he is really busy doing more important things for the

I would like to add something, because I did not mention but the whole thing was absolutely not painfull, it is crazy, the only little annoying thing are the needles for the scalp anaesthesy, but that’s nothing.

A friend of mine came from my place to Amsterdam to pick me up, and I was already having fun with him in the car!!!

sooo, very very smooth, crazy smooth I would say!!!

The only sad things are the big cost, the size of one session (2500 average would be so perfect), and the waiting of 9 months (I would even say a year)…that’s all for me folks.

I will maybe post pictures later, when the result is there and also my donor…I will take care of my donor and transplanted area with vitamins, expensive shampoos and lotions and we’ll see!!!

No Pictures= Not sold on this yet. If the Doctor would reply & Post several

cases it would help his case. All this talk & not enough concrete evidence.

If the Doctor himself is too self important to discuss his procedure and not

show results then that says enough for me.

I think the doctor has other things far more important for him to do…+ they show everything crystal clear on their site.

They are all clear on their site, they show pictures of both donor and transplanted areas, you have the Gerard Joling case and dean Sanders starting, you have some dudes here who posted pictures and Iron-Man who did a great jo in demonstrating…what else? 100 other dudes who would take the time to post pictures to convince you? come on!!!

They are published on dermatologist articles, they are official, they published their study and you have the statistics…

So if now, we could have a discussio that would not always come back on your pictures requests!!!

I will post my pics when it’s relevant, here it’s not, the healing takes time… the donor is considered fully regrown or 85% or 95% regrown after 9 months to 12 months!!! I will compare two pics at 3mm lenght at that time!!!

diamond6 i understand you are sceptic just like many docs

go to BTT forum and there is guy called aim4hair who just posted some interesting pix. i dont think you will be convinced but im impressed with his donor shaved down with no guard

dont know if it regenerates or not all i know is tht hst doesnt leave you white dots like fue does and you are able to shave to the bone.

Would have to see multiple cases and years down the road to be a proven product

for me. Also I have read on a couple of other sites that Patients experienced

No regrowth in the donor sites. Sorry but again not enough concrete Info yet.
