“With successful Phase I and Phase II trials for hair growth, it is believed that the Company will have the ability to do an IPO within the next 5-7 years. Histogen started a 24 patient hair safety study in Q4 2008.”

That’s to get to Phase III trials IF it gets through Phase II.

If you read the link carefully, you will realize it is out of date. Note that they are talking about raising Series A funding - this has already happened and they have achieved final close.

Ah yes, back to reality… :frowning:

Have they initiated a trial other than the pre-trial, 24-cohort safety study that all this data is coming from? Please provide a link if they have already started or completed Phase I trials.

Honestly, I’m suspicious of this company. Lots of hype. This latest claim is fantastic, but they are a long way from commercialization.

Yes in the US it will take longer due to FDA approval. However in Asia, if you have a good saftey study you can speed thing 1000 times quicker than FDA

In a funny kind of way this gives me real hope for follica. For some reason i’ve always thought them the most serious player and the fact that they also use wnt proteins gives me an upbeat feelin about them. Obviously I’ve absolutely no scientific knowledge to back that up just a sense of hope  Still this is good news as far as i’m concerned anything positive at all helps.

I dont come to this site much and dont post much, but I had to post this…

You didnt post the rest did you?

With successful Phase I and Phase II trials for hair growth, it is believed that the Company will have the ability to do an IPO within the next 5-7 years. Histogen started a 24 patient hair safety study in Q4 2008. Positive results will allow the company the potential to do an IPO earlier, within 2-3 years.

Besides what does IPO have to do with the actual treatments? We can have the treatment in a year to 3 years and have the company go public with its IPO in 10 years. lol

Dr. Naughton said launch is possible in 2013 in Asia.
they planned to do a combined 2+3 trial in Asia, and launch afterwards in Asia.
In fact, she talked about “flying to Asia for a full head of hair in 2013”.
This was in a videoclip, last year.

After this video, I bashed Dr. Naughton heavily because I thought she was hyping, but now, this 1-year data, changes everything. Maybe she was being realistic after all.

I hate you noobs. There should be a sticky about how drugs get approved. Its so tiresome having to repeat the same basic information over and over again for overly-optomistic, uninformed posters.

IF THEY HAVEN’T EVEN DONE A PHASE 1 TRIAL, IT WILL BE AT LEAST 7-10 YEARS BEFORE IT CAN BE MARKETED. And that’s assuming IT WORKS.

They stated CLEARLY that they have not done a Phase 1 trial as of 2010, so how can we “have the treatment in a year to 3 years”?

So they’re going to do 3 sets of trials in 3 years? That will be some sort of record I’m sure.

Look, these very, very early results are promising. But its going to be years and years before this is available - if it works.

Of course we all know how drugs get approved in the US, but other parts of the world the restriction is much less. Anyways I hope it does come out within 2 to 3 years thats more realistic than 1 year…

» I hate you noobs. There should be a sticky about how drugs get approved.

This is not a drug.

Your timeline is for the U.S. We’re talking about approval in Asia here.

They don’t have a phase I completed, but they do have a lot of data that may go into phase I. Their non-phase I seems to be more comprehensive than the phase I of Intercytex or Aderans.

Histogen stated, clearly, their efforts were based on a 7 year timeline; that was back in 2008. They’ve also proven a distinct ability to streamline trials by going abroad. If all goes well for Histogen during the next trial than it’s very likely they will have something available somewhere by 2015.

So unless you work at Histogen (have inside knowledge), or you can prove your point otherwise in an intelligent fashion (minus your standard fare profanities), than I’m going to take Histogen at their word opposed to yours.

That’s not the point, I was merely pointing out for your benefit that the link is out of date - which it is.

Note also that they are planning commercialization in Asia first. The Phase 1-3 process which you are familiar with in the US is not relevant in this instance.

In the interview she clearly stated that if everything goes well they expect to bring it to the market in asia in 3-4 years. The FDA approval takes long thats why they will first market it to asia. So if it all goes well book tickets for singapore

Aww - did I rain on your parade by injecting some reality into it, Revtard?

I will bet my account here that Histogen will not have anything available to the public “anywhere” by 2015. Want to take the bet? If they don’t, you leave this board for good (you have already been banned once, so leaving for good shouldn’t be so hard); if they do, I’ll leave. You’re so confident in their “word”, so take the bet.

As for you people who claim you’ll be flying to Asia to get Histogen’s injections before its approved by the FDA, I guess you guys think hair is more important than safety. If you’re that desperate, you might want to look into counseling, because you’ve got bigger issues than hair loss.

You’re welcome to your opinion; I’m welcome to mine.
Having said that, I still think your comments are blinded by xenophobia.
