Histogen Hair Stimulating Complex (HSC) 5-month result

We finally want answers, no longer questions!

This is strictly from my recollection, please be advised that it may not be 100% accurate:

IF all goes as expected, there will be a pivotal trial in Singapore or somewhere in Asia approximately 6 months from now. The trial will focus on “Safety, Dosing & Delivery”. It will be open to both men and women. Roughly 200-300 test subjects will be recruited.

A timeline was provided during the presentation yesterday. According to the chart, if everything goes well, official launch outside US “MIGHT” be possible in about 36 months from now.

This is for general discussion and speculation purposes only, not intended to be a promise that it will happen.

this must be a breakthrough, it is no longer 5 years away

my offhand thoughts on this:

Are the results compoundable? (if not then it’s like minox. There’s only a set 1-time gain despite repeatedly injecting the same area every few months.)

If we can’t get it in the USA for a few years after asia, then surely we can find a way to get it imported under the table.

even w/o any improved DHT resistance compared to the originals, I hope the boosted hairs are able to survive PERIOD without constant re-injection. (If I could manage to get as much hair as I wanted, then surely I can walk away from all the medications for at least a few years, right?)

» – If we can’t get it in the USA for a few years after asia, then

BTW, they are proceeding with the US trials too while the Asian trials are underway. If I recall correctly, and of course assuming all goes as planned, the timeline chart indicates that they expect to finish phase I and phase II trial in the US by the time they are ready for the official launch in Asia.

»
» Just read on another site that Histogen plan on trialing it in asia first

you can easily estimate.

there is a scale. it looks to me like a circle of 0.8 cm in diameter (see the 2mm scale there?), so if its 0.8cm, then illusion of full head of hair density starts at 503 hairs / cm ^2. the area of the circle is pi(0.8^2). The number of TERMINAL hair that would give you illusion of full head of hair would then have to be pi*(0.8^2)503 and that is 301… with density of 70 grafts / cm^2 the number of terminal hair on the area of the size shown on the photographs would be pi*(0.8^2)703 and that is 422 terminal hair.

You can see, that the person on the photograph started with quite a lot of hair already. He was far from slick bald. Yes some of it was not terminal, but still. My main concern would be, is this going to work for baldies? Or is it just another minoxidil that works if you still have your hair growing?

if you want an answer you need to know the question

in other words, u.s release is still more or less 5 years away

Sorry I don’t want to offend anybody but those “results” are 5000000 million years away from any cosmetic cure. Propecia or Minoxidil will give you better results.

Why are people worried about a US release if they might release earlier in Asia?
If you could afford the $5000 dollars they plan to ask for the procedure, then surely you could stump up the money for some plane tickets.

You wont get results like this from one application of minoxidil or one propecia pill.

Why don’t people take into account that these results were from a single injection?

For all we know results could improve drastically after a higher dosage or repeat injections, like so many other things do.

Been there, done that, Propecia and Minoxidil only help a little bit for me, I want to try something more effective before I consider hair transplant.

Minoxidil only helps a small fraction of the people a little bit. And though it helps preserve hair, Propecia is almost useless for actually growing new hair.

Sure - I would, but are the results permanent? We just don’t have enough information…i would do anything to get off Propecia, which is an effective drug, but the side effects are HORRIBLE…

Are the results of Finasteride and Minoxidil permanent?..no

»
» Are the results of Finasteride and Minoxidil permanent?..no

Minox has no permanence, I agree.

But Finasteride does. Use it (successfully) for 5 years, and you will probably push back your lifetime loss by most of 5 years permanently. Even if you drop the drug and the loss resumes, you will still retain the benefit from those 5 years for the rest of your life.

That’s pretty much all I need to know for now. BTW the 5 month pics look very encouraging .

I just noticed that at the bottom right hand corner of the pics, it reads “2mm”, does it mean the test area is only 2mm in diameter? Can someone find out? 2mm is tiny, extremely tiny!

Look at the line above the 2mm number - i think 2mm is just the scale of that line. This means that the pic area is about 12x12mm in my opinion

Well, these are 2 test subjects:
S1013 and S1024

They have different evolutions in time. The S1013 seems to have a sustained improvement in time, while the S1024 clearly loses steam at 5 months (terminal hairs number basically return to baseline at 5 months).

We will see. Patient S1013 makes me a bit optimistic. Maybe a finetuning will be able to improve the time-response in all patients…
