Looks like they will be attempting to sell their tech to Aderans/bosley clinics. This is good news, out of ICX and this company hopefully something will be available in the coming years.

hmmm it’s interesting, but let’s hope they garner interest from P&G rather than Bosley… and let’s hope that timeline can be shortened. If I’m not mistaken, it looks like they’re aiming for Q4 2015.
I do like their suggested price for treatment at $5k versus $4-12k for 2plus HT procedures. I also like that Dr. Naughton’s previous findings were substantiated in an article by George Cotsarelis, but I won’t hold my breath until they test and prove that HGEN-001 works on humans.

"In May 2007, these findings were substantiated by research performed by
Dr. George Cotsarelis, which offered further evidence that these growth factors and proteins in combination lead to a significant increase in the creation of new hair follicles in mice.
Histogen’s injectable for hair growth will be undergoing clinical trials, and launch is planned for 2015."
i’d stick with follica.

HGEN-001 HGEN-001 is a proprietary liquid formula created by infusing the soluble chemicals secreted by the newborn fibroblasts with the liquid media. It is the first naturally stabilized and bioactive formulation of wnt proteins and growth factors, offering exceptional opportunities for applications including research tools and biologics products.
The formula contains naturally stabilized and bioactive wnt proteins and activity
The formula contains naturally secreted growth factors
HGEN-001 is soluble and injectable
The formula requires no purification process
Capabilities for Hair growth
Hair loss affects 35 million men and 21 million women in the United States.
One of Histogen’s significant applications for HGEN-001 is its utilization as an injectable for hair growth. The combination of wnt proteins and growth factors making up HGEN-001 has been shown to both stimulate resting hair follicles and induce new follicle formation.

They claim in the PDF document that clinical trials produced alot of hair growth and show you pictures of two mice that do indeed have hair growth in bald spots. They also claim a product could be ready by 2015…but why so long out there if its a sure thing? Senseless…That is seven years from now. If they are sure, it would be sooner. Its almost weird saying “expected launch date 7 years from now”. If they are that confident, then go ahead and recruit volunteers and have a damned trial beginning next month. Until they have grown hair on AT LEAST human skin grafted onto a SCID mouse, Im not going to get excited. To be honest, this company seems to be at the state that Aderans or ICX was four years ago, just starting. They are up on WNT being a pathway that can be used to induce things along…
Im not going to laugh at them like Hangin’ did, and its great to have another company interested, but this is “out there” a ways for certain. They certainly speak confidently in the PDF file, but Washenik used to speak very confidently, and now he hardly speaks at all.

IM certainly not offended and you might very well be right to be dubious of this company. I just looked at their budget…yikes its small. Total outlays were something like 3.7 million. I bet the dont have 30 employees aggregately. Here was their board:http://www.histogeninc.com/aboutus/management_board.htm
Here is where they are at in various trials:http://www.histogeninc.com/products/clinical_status.htm
This is a start-up looking for money in my opinion. I hate to say it, but saying one is investigating a HM-methodology might be a good way to get millionaire baldies, if you can convince them you are close, to ante up much more than they ever would for this type of company…
