HELP- Rogaine foam causing massive shed

I’m 26, diffuse throughout and started using Rogaine foam on the crown a month ago. Massive amounts of hair have been shedding for a month now. So much so that when I went for a haircut, the barber noticed the change and pointed out my now massive bald spot in the crown area. Is this normal? Now I really don’t know what to do. Please share your experiences. Has anyone had a massive shed that later grew back? Given these results, I am way too scared to even try the rogaine on the front hairline. Should I continue using the product?

There will be an initial hair loss for about 2- 4 weeks. Signs of hair regrowth are usually seen couple of weeks later – mostly by about 4 months.

I have heard of the initial shed, but usually it is more common among women. It is a tough call.

Rogaine or minoxidil has been used as a topical hair loss treatment since late 80s. It is extremely well tolerated by the majority of the users. I have never heard of permanent hair loss as a result of this treatment. Where possible, I would continue with the treatment under your doctor’s supervision.
