Hair follicles die at some point

Here is my question to those on the board who think you can fill in bald spots

Do you think hair follicles live forever?. You think if a guy has a bald spot that has no hair on it, no peach fuzz even, you think the hair follicles are just waiting for some miracle regimen to revive them? and they never die?

Apparently many of you think this

ask the hair transplant docs, if, when they slice open a scalp…if those hair follicles are still alive

At some point the follices do die

now, this is not quick . It takes years, If the guy has just recently within the last several years, lost his hair in that area, chances are many of the follicles are still alive. If the area is just “thinning” most of the follicles are still alive. If there is even peach fuzz there, the peach fuzz and a lot of other hairs can be revived and are still alive

but if there is not even peach fuzz, and that area has been devoid of hair for 5, 10, 15 yrs, good luck with ANY REGIMEN getting anything to grow there

you guys that are “regrowing” your hair, great, maybe it will keep regrowing

but until you find a regimen that regrows hair on 15 yr old bald spots, well, you never will, no regimen can

until you guys wake up and smell the coffee, and realize that eventually hair follicles die, you will never be able to understand hair loss

They do not die in typical male hairloss- follicles are remarkably resilient.

What your saying is ridiculous - you havent done your research and you have certainly havent experimented with different topicals to find the right combination for you.

what are you basing your assumption on, that the follicles do not die?
what studies have been done that show the follicles are all still alive after 15 yrs on a bald area

i Would like a hair transplant doc that slices open bald scalps, to comment on this

Hangin’, I hate to point out that your wrong on this but there is a man that has a proven track record and photos included showing that a man with a 15 plus year bald spot can regrow his hair back.

If you would go to GetITBack you will see a man named Lawrence Cutsinger has done just what you said can’t be done. Lawrence actually started out as a bowling ball and is now a Norwood 7 simply by cutting out shampoo. Yes, according to what he said he was as bald as a bowling ball and he is getting his hair back after decades of shiny nothingness on his head. We’re talking decades Hangin’ because this guy is in his mid 60’s I believe.

I hate to do this but Widowspeak, who is a member there can verify what I say. Now take a look yourself at Lawrence’s photos and tell me you don’t see regrowth. The best news of all is just about to happen. Lawrence is claiming in this July that he will have FULL REGROWTH and he’s also checking into getting on the Oprah Winfrey Show. This is where Widows gets jealous of Lawrence so he has to also mention Oprah as well though nobody believes him like they do Lawrence.

So Hangin’, go to GetItBack and take a look at Lawrence’s photos (His name there is Hairguy) and I am sure you will be shocked when you see them. After you do , report back your findings here.

i dont doubt that this may have occured but it may also be a fluke
it doesnt mean that all guys scalp hairs live for 20 yrs under shiny bald scalp, perhaps this guy is a freak of nature
one person does not a study make

i would like to see doctors opinions as to what constitutes follicle death, if it can be measured

I can’t believe I am agreeing with one of the Balding Brothers but Hilter is correct.
Hair follicles don’t die Baldin, they go dormant. This explains why I am approaching full regrowth including my temples.

Forget asking transplant doctors what they think Baldin. They make their money off of morons like you that think follicles die. They will never tell you follicles just go dormant and never die.

I know you won’t believe this because you aren’t the brightest light in the harbor are you?

speaking of proof, go grab a GOOD CAMERA and show us all that new regrowth…funny how your pics are always blurry, but then again you wouldnt want to show the real closeups now would you…Mr going bald fast…hey did any of the bathroom attendants at oprahs studio get you a job interview yet, I heard u been asking around

Maybe one of those docs could slice open YOUR scalp, drill a hole in that thick skull of yours, and give you the lobotomy you so desperately need. You are just making a fool out of yourself. I see no need for you to post on Hairsite anymore.

Jtelecom

ur just a shill for some hair transplant clinic anyway, woopee
if u knew anything about regrowth you would not have gotten a huge transplant would u

Hangin’, I’m not sure MPB follicles die but as we get older, I think some follicles might “die”. I don’t think we know for sure yet? Even doctors have conflicting opinions on this.

I always suggest people read the following article when questions about follicle cycling, apoptosis(sp?), etc., arise. It’s long but a very good read.

http://physrev.physiology.org/cgi/content/full/81/1/449

I suppose it’s possible some follicles might “die” as we get older. Well, that’s what I always assumed. Don’t really know though.:frowning:
