I took Saw Palmetto and Soy Isoflavones awhile back, and although it did appear to slow my hairloss. I got gyno. I stopped using it. And the unilateral gyno has shrunk slightly, but 6 months later is does still remain. I’m considering getting surgery, but not convinced I should just yet.
Anyway, I used Saw Palmetto and Soy because I was scared of the side effects associated with Propecia… and I’m losing my hair. Obviously, I probably should’ve just went with Propecia. But, hindsite is 20-20.
So, I’d like to try Propecia now, but I’m a little scared it will worsen my gyno. I’m wondering if anyone else has ever started on propecia “after” having an issue with gyno (as a side effect from some other drug/herb). Please re-assure me or scare me away…

Prop is more likely to cause gyno than SP. In your situation I would get some bloods done before moving on. In short if gyno is a problem already, don’t even think about prop or dut. There are anti eastrogens etc but you need to discuss this under proper medical supervision. There is a biochemical story to this but that should come from a practicing medic.

If you are getting gyno while on Saw Palmetto, it’s probably not a good idea to try Propecia. There are more reported incidences of Propecia related gyno than Saw Palmetto.
