Greek News Yesterday- Stem Cells from fat in Belly to grow hair

I was watching the Greek new via Satellite and saw a bit about how this Greek doctor has taken fat stem cells from mens bellies, put them into a lab and then inject them into bald areas of mens scalps. The results take 2 months and it fills in the balding ares with normal hair like your existing scalp. He mentioned other companies around the world using hair mulitiplications techniqes and how they are failing because the hair isnt the same as the rest of the scalp or not grown right in the dish. He has it currently working in Greece and they showed a real guy talking about the results and showed it. His hair was filling it. He said the results were great. This doctor has been in research in Greece for hair loss for sometime…I cant find the clip on you tube or on the internet…i will try andlook for it some more…They also had the same doctor on this famous talk show like Oprah in Greece talking about his new procedure…looks promising…anyone heard of this???

I’m skeptical, but if someone else has a link or something I’d take a look at it.

I’m sorry, i’m from italy, i don’t watch greek television! :stuck_out_tongue:

Try to search on the site of the tv channel… or look something on internet, some greeks forume ecc!!!

You would think this would be international news if it were true.

Hey Mjones, i done some research on this doctor.

His name is Vasilas Paspaliaris, but calls himself Dr. Bill Paspaliaris and apparently was working between australia and korea. Seems his body fat stem cell technology was first put to the press around November 2008.And is claiming to have a regenerative medicine using stem cells from body fat to cure various medical issues.

Article on press : http://www.1888pressrelease.com/adistem-pops-the-fat-stem-cell-cork-in-france-pr-82909.html

His website http://www.returninghope.com/ claims to treat various amount of medical conditions including hair loss. Upon viewing the hair restoration side of his website http://www.returninghope.com/hair-restoration/video/stem-cell-therapy.html there is a video patient testimonial
http://www.returninghope.com/hair-restoration/video/patient-testimonial.html dated back to 2008, on viewing this testimonial you will see the patient is clearly balding but only at the 1 month stage of his apparent 2 month cycle into this treatment with no visible results. There is also no update on his progress even though the video is from 2008. Which got me thinking " Hang on a minute surely there should be an update if what they claim is true ".

So i did some more looking and found this article from an australian newspaper.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/scientist-cures-decried-as-sham/story-e6frf7kx-1111112951994

It basically describes Mr. Paspaliaris’s treatment as " Snake oil stuff"

Hope this helps,

Bezzzo

sounds the same technique but its not the same doctor…if you can be patient i have an appointment with the doctor in question during easter which was the first available appointment. His name is voukidis. Dont get your hopes up for this yet i am going in to ask for details i do not intent to have this done unless i am persuaded that it may have a chance.

I tried to ask questions but his secretary said she doesnt know and that i would have to book an appointment(which by the way is free).

It doesnt sound like PRP because PRP uses blood and this use fat from your own body. The cost from what i saw is between 2500-4000 euros

if you want to see the video you can find it here but its in greek. You have to go to minute 33 or someting bacause its the whole news in this link.

http://webtv.antenna.gr/webtv/watch?cid=n6ky5_p%2F8_u7_m%3D

It basically shows a young guy who had it done and a very vague before picture of him. It then talks about how it works and what the patient should expect…which is thickening from the first week of use and results as early as 3 months.

I dont know how it will go with the doctor but if you have any questions or reasons that you think that this might not work you can tell me and i will ask him and debate him to see how he responds.

Hi Bezzo,

yeah that was the video i saw from the greek news. It looked promising but of course its probably hype and nothing really exciting. I wanted to share it with everyone and thought this was something really cool. Talk to your doctor and see what he says

first of all this TV channel is valid and very well established in Greece.
the procedure is being described as super easy and fast.
it takes only 4 hours.
first the doctor takes fat stem cells from the belly area.
then, by using a very tiny syringe he exudes the cells on the skull of the patient.before the injection , the doctor elaborates the content of the syrigne for 2.5 hours in order to isolate only the stems that are needed :expressionless:

the Tv lady said that this guy is one of the first greek person who tried this technique.

the doctor who speaks in the video , claims that results will be seen after one week or so. '‘probably’'fine hair will become thicker(that;s what he said)
hairloss will stop, and eventually hair will end up stronger .

the guy has done it six months ago…:lookaround:

my opinion…
NO WAY. I DONT PAY FOR THAT.

as regads the other dr. who has been mentioned in one post above. dr paspaliaris…
he is another story, i follow his activity for few years now.
he is super established in greece.
he works on severals projects and for sure not entirely on hairloss issues.

  1. Rule#1: If it works then the doc shouldn’t have any trouble proving it to you with real successful test cases before you hand over your money.

  2. Rule#2: Go back and real Rule#1 again.

I reckon this maybe a real deal for people suffering from early premature male pattern baldness. There is clinical trial carrying on in Florida on a patient named Russell Gibson and results have been encouraging.

#1 nothing can get you results in 1 week when it comes to hair loss, #2 if results can be seen in 1 week, he should have hundreds of satisfied patients already with convincing before and after photos, well I don’t see any around, do you?
