Finally a tattoo hair treatment. I\'m going to do this

I live in Spain, and I don’t feel confident speaking english on the phone.

I find it annoying and stupid that they don’t want to answer you via email.
This makes me think that they can’t solve the fading-spreading problem. Anyway, we will find out some way or another. In the meantime, don’t have it done to you.

» Here is the response I got. Spanish Dude, since I’m living in Thailand,
» would you mind giving them a call (if you live in the states)? I hate using
» skype with my bad microphone and I’m on a 12 hour time difference. You also
» know more about tattoos than I do.

Sorry, I thought you lived in America. I’ll ask my sister to call them.

What happens if someone rub their hands over your head and notice there is no hair?? I did have HT done, so I maybe looking into this, but if someone that doesnt have enough hair and someone wants to touch their head they may notice?

If they asked, I would tell them that I’m balding and that it’s a cosmetic tattoo. Big deal. Lots of people have tattoos. I care more about the way I look in public, not if people care if I have real hair or not. I heard glue on wigs are too much work and always have to be replaced. Therefore I won’t go that route.

I checked out goodlinkink’s price. WAY to expensive. I’ve been looking at other places that do this and this one seemed interesting. They use semi-permanent ink.

Read the FAQ on this website. It looks good. This place is out of Atlanta. I just hope the price is cheaper than the other quote I got.

Oh and Spanishdude, it looks like they have a location in Spain too.

“We would like to thank you for considering working with Good Look Ink. We prefer to answer this question via the phone as its not a straight yes or no. We can say no [fading] if the client takes care of the process.”

A big couple of Red Flags in my book.

This is what I would worry MIGHT be the intention:

(a) They don’t want to put anything in writing that is clear cut, BS’ing you on the phone is a lot safer.
(b) “if the client takes care of the process” suggests to me if it goes wrong then they are looking to blame YOU.

In my book if “its not a straight yes or no” then it’s going down as a YES…

Personally I think if you don’t have any hair in the area then it won’t be very realistic and the examples above do not - apart from maybe one or two who also had a lot of hair to begin with - look very natural to me (as somebody else has said).

UPDATE: This quote from their website:

“MHT™ scalp pigmentation treatment is classed as “permanent”, although with time the pigment is likely to fade and soften due to exposure to ultra violet light and the sun. MHT scalp pigmentation is not a conventional tattooing technique. The MHT™ techniques we have to adopt in order to create the correct size and shape of hair replications and micro hairs does mean fading can occur over time. In order to help this situation we provide comprehensive aftercare instructions to help preserve the best results.”

I don’t find this reassuring - and I cannot find anywhere which says how long it takes to fade to the point of unacceptability; how you fix it; how much it costs to fix;

Not Good.

Another Red Flag from their Webmaster on the forums:

“Honestly, we have clients who dont even tell their partners or family. We have one client in particular who had his treatment 5 years ago, and his wife still hasn’t noticed. The chances of your work colleagues finding out you’ve had treatment are virtually zero, unless you choose to tell them.”

Good grief, ‘Honestly’ I think you are being economical with the truth. If you are a significant Norwood (say 4 to 6) and you turn up to work with what looks like A FULL HEAD OF HAIR cut to stubble then I think that there is an its bitsy chance that people might notice

OK, I’m outta here.

Bad idea…

  1. all tattoos bleed or smudge over time…
  2. outside these people likely look bald as ever. Their heafds will still look shiny because light is stilll reflecting off their bald tattooed scalp instead of actual hair.

The following is just my personal interpretation and opinion - nothing more.

=====================================================
“We prefer to answer this question via the phone as its not a straight yes or no.”

How I read this -

‘We don’t want to go on the record saying it will not fade but we do want to persuade you on the phone to go ahead.’

BIG RED FLAG.

We can say no [fading] if the client takes care of the process.

How I read this -

‘If it fades it’s your problem not ours.’

BIG RED FLAG.

The guy that had his strip scar filled in looked very good. That would be an interesting one to see in person.

Agreed. I had dots and they bled into blobs, but I think a more graduated approach might work - instead of sharp heavy dots on bare skin, I like the idea softer dots on a thin and light constant shaded background.

Of the four mug shots, I think one looks better, one looks the same (not good) and two look worse in the after shots

I think anyone considering this needs to see it in person. What about in direct sunlight, will it be easily noticeable? How well does it blend with the patients remaining hair? These can only be answered by seeing it in person.
my advice…just use the M.Gardson’s method daily. .if you do happen to start experiencing hair loss, there are remedies that work to stop it.

»That’s what it sounds like to me too. I got similar responses. They refuse to post good pics and told me I have to go there to see someone in person. They are hiding something. I contacted another place in Florida and got all the answers I wanted. Much more professional, honest and up front. Told me all pros and cons and did not just tell me what I wanted to hear

This Good Look place refused to answer questions. Few years, where? There garage? Theyve only had a license since March of 2010.»

Cosmetic Transdermal Hair Replication is what we call it in the US. There

I was really ready to make fun of this, but I have to say it doesn’t look ridiculous based on the photos. (well, some of those guys do, but I assume they wanted a very angular shaved-in style)

That said-- yeah, there are some questions. What does this look like in sunlight? What do you look like up-close? What’s it going to look like in 10 years as the ink disperses throughout the skin?

WHY ARE ALL THESE GUYS HEAD PINK??? Looks like female bathing caps.

I noticed a black guy 6 months ago at the airport with a tattooed hair. I have to say, it looks ok but noticeable.

I guess it depends what outfit does it. Maybe it was this guy. Here is one that really sucks, looks pretty solid in the hairline then along the left looks like he’s still balding. poor guy.

…Dont do this. Seriously. I KNOW how much going bald hurts and how expensive everything is and that will cause many men to run out and go get this tatoo technique done. It will be the biggest mistake they ever make just ten years down the line. Even if it somehow manages to keep its color,it will not keep its sharpness. Not to mention that all hair eventually lightens(grays) as we age. Tatooing wont. Horrible quick fix solution. Anyone see just how bad Joey Lawrence looks when he isnt in a completely controlled, perfect lighting situation. He loks so bad. Im in the film business and have done hair and make up. I know the mechanics of skin. It doesnt have so much to do with how high in quality the colors are,its that skin is ever changing through life and will NEVER hold the tatoo or its color sharply or tightly. I know its tempting but its just another bad idea quick fix. Regards, Justin2rue
