I was just checking another forum and came across a poster who relayed that
he heard an electric clipper like sound whilst Dr. Umar was extracting grafts from his donor
region.
Whether or not Dr. Umar is using a drill or not.
It does make me wonder about-
How long has Umar been using it for?
Is it really a drill like the one Armani is using?
Is it really a proprietary new tool as he sez it is?
If anyone else has had a procedure with Umar that would like to share more details about
it, please do so as I think it would only benefit the hair loss community.
How do you know Armani is using a drill? Wouldn’t you think that if the doctor is using a drill on the patient’s head, the patient would have blood gushing out like Niagara falls? What a stupid comment is that!

Reiner> You have a lot to learn…
Your comment is quite naive to tell the truth.
I’ve been around the forums for a while and have had the opportunity to read many threads about Armani and his use of a drill…
Maybe you should read more and talk a little less…
Also> The use of a drill is fascinating but can also make me wonder whether how much more transections are occurring? If Dr. Umar truly is using a proprietary tool it would be good to hear more about it’s pros and cons!
Use your brain, this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, you read somewhere some doctor is using a drill on his patients and you wouldn’t ask for proof? c’mon, a drill on someone’s head? prove it, only a moron would even bother to ask such a question, what’s next?
No wonder why Dr. Umar wouldn’t even bother to dignify this with a response.

Reiner> I’m not going to bother with you because you’re making yourself look dumber by the minute.
Like I said earlier look things up and you’ll notice poster’s reporting on the use of a drill used by Armani…
And your concerns with the use of a drill is why I and others are a bit perplexed to say the least. But it is said to be so!! You just have to look into other threads further…
Secondly, I don’t know if Umar is using a drill and that’s why the thread was started so we can find out so and or if Umar really has a new tool that could benefit the community.
» I’m sure if you read it on the internet it’s true.
»
» I couldn’t care less what he uses as long as I get results.
That’s exactly how I feel, some of these posts are nothing but childish politics. Dr. Umar is on top of my list when it comes to repair, I have seem some really impressive repair work from him and I couldn’t care less if he uses a drill as long as I get good results.
That patent is pretty old, dated 2000 when it was filed by Rassman, I wonder if any doctor uses it for fue these days. If the reason for using a mini drill is to preserve the surrounding follicles, then what’s wrong with it? What’s the big deal whether the doctor uses a drill or punch or however you want to call it?
» We have tried to use the drill in some of our FUE patients and it was not
» to Dr. Shapiro’s liking.
»
» Depth/angle control and transection when using a .9mm was a problem–the
» drill is just not as “comfortable” as using a standard punch.

parable,
those are all very good questions that you asked.
but when i read stupid and ignorant comments like some that i read just now it makes me puke.
it’s amazing what kind of primitive tactics these anti-fue posters wont revert to, just to discredit fue and divert from reality that fue is advancing every day and it will eventually sooner than later overtake that #1 spot in HT world. but i understand their frustration here and why they would allow themselves to get so dirty and so low. it can be expressed as this - boy oh boy why did i settle to honda civic when i could have had mercedes if i only waited few more years.
yes Armani is using electric drill no question about it, and yes it seems that Umar has just started using it too. so i would also like to know since when, how long and how big is it in terms of mm.
The lack of any signs from extraction and the 17,000 + body hair growing on my head and 2000+ taken from my scalp could care less how they were taken- they are happy growing and making me happy everytime I feel the need to get my electric clippers out to cut them.
Absurd post like this never cease to amaze me .There is no purpose being served with it for others seeking assistance with their hair loss restoration.
Whatever you are doing Dr Umar keep doing it for the sake of all of us who enjoy living our lives with the confidence and assurance after your advancing procedures.
17000+ body hair + 2000 scalp hair by Dr Umar
Sept 2005=Sept 2007
Do me a favour and answer me… Did Umar use the drill on you??
If so, all good, Coz your results are rather nice might I say, even if you did have thousands upon thousands of grafts extracted and planted.
All my question is meant to do is find out whether-
Umar is actually using a Drill?
If so, then how long for?
If not, what proprietary new tool has he got in his arsenal?
What size tool is it?
These are legitimate questions and hopefully Dr. Umar will be open and transparent in answering them.
His results have been rather decent and if he has been using a drill for a while, then he is doing rather well with it.
However, If he has recently changed over to the drill from a manual punch then that gives reason to some concern.
What amazes me is how cheer leaders and the misinformed come on here and talk it up like they don’t care when in my opinion these questions are rather important.
If some of you guys don’t think these questions are important and don’t need answering then don’t bother responding, Cause you aren’t helping my query anyway!

Tool size is really not that important in my opinion, it’s not like once you have the correct tool size then voila, you become an FUE expert, if this is how FUE works then there are FUE experts all over the world by now, I remember Dr. Harris has what he called the perfect tool that will not cause transection, it has been so many years since he invented that punch and I don’t see his instrument making any difference in the FUE world

That’s how I feel too about this whole debate, I now realize that it doesn’t matter what they call it, if you go to their websites you’ll see they all have some fancy names for fue, it’s all a game. If you ask me, I think they are all doing more or less the same technique but they just call it differently to make it look like they are special. You focus on the results, not the drill or whatever it is that the doctors use to take the donor out.

Have you ever had FUE?? When you say tool size isn’t important you couldn’t be further from the truth… I have had a 1mm tool used on my donor and let me tell you the white dot scarring isn’t pleasant!
