» » Well JarJar, when are you getting the treatment???
»
»
» when they add more external growth factors like Histogen is doing. Until
» then all you will get is thickening of the diameter of the already long
» hairs. You won’t get peach fuzz turning into elongated thick hairs. In
» order to have a chance at turning the peach fuzz back into normal hairs
» they need to augment the treatment and if they aren’t going to do that then
» I will probably sit it out and wait for Histogen. Unless of course they
» find some other way to make acell better without adding external growth
» factors. For example, Dr. Hitzig is trying a mesogun which would result in
» a lot more wounding and that could result in some of the peach fuzz turning
» back into full length/thickness hairs.
»
» For now I’m waiting to see what the mesogun can accomplish.
Problem with this whole thing, Jarjar, is that we don’t know whether the photos posted from Dr. Hitzig are post-op after a hair transplant in which ACell+PRP was used, or if they’re just “post-op” from an ACell+PRP treatment with no hair transplant.
Aren’t you shocked that Hitzig didn’t even supply that information? Or that HairSite didn’t even mention it?
Hmmmmm… to me it seems like Dr. Hitzig might be… uuuuhhhh… trying to confuse us, maybe??? NOOOOOOOOO… he would never do that! He’s a scientist!!! A medical doctor!!!
Really, it’s just plain disingenuous for a doctor to provide 3 before/after photos, calling the after shots “post-op” WITHOUT even bothering to explain to us what the “op” was.
–Was HT surgery done, or not?
–If so, how many grafts were transplanted, and what kind of grafts? And where?
–How much ACell and PRP was used, and on how many occasions?
Now, consider this little question:
Let’s assume there was a HT done. A totally reasonable assumption.
Then, we have to evaluate the photos in terms of HOW GOOD THEY ARE COMPARED TO A STANDARD HAIR TRANSPLANT WITHOUT ACELL AND PRP!!!
And when you evaluate them that way, it’s really not that much better – if even better at all – than a plain old conventional hair transplant session, is it?
Any “increased thickness” of the hairs would be attributable not so much to the ACell and PRP, but to the fact that healthy follicles were moved from the donor areas to the crown.
Remember, Dr. Hitzig has been offering ACell + PRP in two types of settings:
-
First, as a supplement to regular hair transplants, to enhance them or make them work better or whatever (or so he claims).
-
Second, as a STAND-ALONE THERAPY, where he claims that just injecting ACell and PRP into the scalp, WITHOUT TRANSPLANTING ANY HAIR, will make the existing hairs grow better, stronger, thicker.
Well, WHY IS HE NOT TELLING US HERE WHICH ALTERNATIVE THESE PICTURES REPRESENT?
They are vaguely titled “post op” but it seems to me that most people here are just assuming they represent stand-alone ACell+PRP therapy with no hair transplant at all.
If that’s the assumption, then of course you’re gonna think it’s great!
If the opposite is true, and a HT was done, then it’s just a run-of-the-mill result, not really any better than just a simple HT at all.
