Our Patient had a small FUE session before, around 500 grafts, he now wished to properly address his hair loss and repair the frontal third. Dr. Bisanga used FUT for this procedure because it was a better technique to use considering his previous op to reach the numbers needed.
Here we have a compilation of Pre Op and 12 Months Post Op pictures.
There is a method to the decision to go strip in this case. As said he had a previous FUE surgery with another clinic prior to coming to us. The FUE was small but larger punches were used and transection was obviously high as many more punches were made to the number placed.
The scarring left from the FUE was widespread and had reduced his density over a surface area, with the design the patient was looking at it would have made it very hard to do another FUE without compromising his donor more. Strip in this case was his best option to gain the graft numbers required and giving him better options for the future when he will need another procedure. So, on the face of it, under 3000 grafts we would have probably recommend FUE for him, but under the circumstances Strip was the preferred method, the patient understands this and agreed, for the greater good in the future.
Looking good, but I don’t see why strip was employed just because he gotta a bad FUE before. Donor was compromised in terms of diminsished possible harvest sure, and on top he wanted big numbers, but isn’t his future is more compromised now on account of the strip scar? Right now though, it looks great
I think more doctors should start adding beard hairs, both Dr Arvind and Umar have success doing that, is this something that Dr. Bisanga will consider?
I will try to post pictures that illustrate the problem, it is something that is misunderstood with FUE sometimes or maybe not even felt as relevant.
If larger punches are used and over a significant area it basically makes that area impossible to remove more grafts from with FUE, and even strip it makes the slither harder to dissect with all the punch/scar tissue created, not forgetting it can change the laxity of the skin if the pattern of extraction is not well thought out.
A strip was by far the best way for this patient to reach the numbers, and still leave him with better than good options for the future. He can still have another decent strip and FUE as his hair loss progresses.
fastforward,
beard hair is something that Dr. B has actually embraced, his first BH was about 5 years ago now and he has been careful over this time to not jump in, you may say where fools dare to tread. It can be a viable option in the right cases. I Myself have had around 600 beard now to crown and will update my case in a new thread to show the results so far.

I’d would love to see your beard hair pics, there is real hope there if more doctors are starting to show consistent beard hair growth.
