Clearing up the confusion: Types of PGD2 Inhibitors - by Iron Dragon

I suddenly have an urge to take all this s***t and inject it into my head… :lookaround:

@osma, we have already pretty much stopped hair loss, the goal now should be regrowth. [/quote]

That’s why I asked the question about the PGD2 inhibitors possibly making people better responders to stuff like Propecia, Avodart, and minoxidil. Maybe the reason some people get amazing results and others get no results is related to PGD2. Or not. I took Avodart for years and it slowed my hairloss almost to a stop during that time. A couple of years ago I stopped taking it. Now I’m back on it AND the PGD2 inhibitors. By January 2014 I should be able to report whether the combination yielded regrowth or not.

And, of course, I have my eye on the work of Dr Nigam and others.

Wondering if you have noticed any side effects?

Alec can answer, of course, but I just want to point out that the Ramatroban literally only arrived a few days ago. So, he and I and anyone else using Iron Dragon’s Ramatroban has only been doing so for a couple of days.

I can tell you that it feels cold when it goes on and seems to evaporate (or be absorbed, possibly) in a matter of about 10 seconds. Unlike the greasy Chromo/Indo combination, there is no evidence that you have just applied something to your scalp. I like that, but wonder if the product is actually being absorbed or if it is just flashing off.

Hey rick, thanks. It seems I get some stomach discomfort and a slight headache after about 10 minutes after application.

Do you feel anything like this?

I do not feel anything different and am alive after 3 days of Ramatroban, no regrowth!!! It appears it is mixed with an alcohol based delivery liquid, so that is why it absorbs quickly. The Cloprostenol is the same, alcohol base. The chromo and Indo are mixed with something else. Pissed I haven’t noticed regrowth after 3 days on ramatroban. (heavy sarcasm)

hi alec, are you considering combining the iron dragon prods with Fin or Dut to see if it improves efficacy?

I used dut for a while but it didnt do anything for me. Clearly the most efffective products that I am using ar ethe Chromoglycate and Indomethacin, they stop hair loss. Now to focus on regrowing hair I think we close to having success with Cloprostenol and Ramatroban although I have not noticed any regrowth besides vellus. IMO Dut and Fin are a waste of time and money as they do not work at all for me

I tried ramatroban, indo and chromo from Iron dragon and nothing worked.

  1. Indo - absolutely made my scalp go crazy, super irritating and bothersome. I tried for a week and lost a ton of hair and couldn’t stand the itch. I also tried indomethacin cream ordered online that didn’t work.

  2. Ramatroban- seems to have a high alcohol content because it evaporated so quickly for me. Used this for a few weeks and my hair just kept getting thinner and thinner, it dried out my scalp and my forehead so badly and just thinned my hair out so I had to stop.

  3. Sodium chromo- was milder than the other two for me and I tried for a few weeks also and it did nothing. No regrowth, no stoppage, nothing. My hair would get rock hair and greyish on it and just looked like crap.

So Cots and his PGD2 “THEORY” without any real life results has had us trying everything pgd2 related without any real positive results. I hope something has worked for others but I have sufficiently tried ceterizine orally/topically and all of the above and no luck. So thanks for releasing this info cots without any real world results!

Cody, Im suprised your hair loss hasnt stopped. Try using minox foam along with just the Chromoglycate and Indomethacin, apply twice a day after shower. It will dry out your scalp and cause some itching, flaking so use head and shoulders shampoo. this is what worked for me but I did go through an initial dry flaking scalp period.

Cotsarelis never claimed that any of this PGD2 science would make a viable topical treatment. Cots merely published some strong evidence that PGD2 may be crucial in causing the MPB damage.

We, the online MPB community (and Iron Dragon) ran with the idea from there. We inferred that if excessive PGD2 is bad for hair then surely fighting PGD2 with topicals made from existing drugs must be good for hair.

Be realistic. None of these ideas we get on this HM Research forum are guaranteed to work (or even be safe for that matter.) If you aren’t willing to take some risks with your money and health then you should stick to the big 3 meds with FDA backing.

I’m very tempted to start using Chromoglycate / Indomethacin as fin has done next to nothing for my hairloss.

Has anyone from the UK had any issue with ordering this from ID? And is this potentially the only source of Chromoglycate / Indomethacin?

Hey TheThing,

I spoke to a representative of Kane about ordering his products from china to germany and he recommended that I find someone in the UK or Poland because they have the most lax customs regulations. Judging from that I would expect that there is no problem ordering goods from the US. I would be very eager to know how IronDragon’s Chromo/Indo works out for you. Keep us posted.

Good news then with the customs. I’ve been on the fence with this for awhile and im still unsure. What i do know is i need to do something!

im one of the unlucky non responders to Fin and while I’ve been on fin for just over a year my situation has not changed. What interests me most about Chromo/Indo is peoples claims it stops the shedding/hair fall. This alone would be enough for me as watching alot of hair fall everyday is driving me crazy.

What puts me off is I’ve read a few times people said its burn there heads.
another thing is “boldy” said you can get these ingrediants for a few £ which has also kept me from buying. Its not that ID is expensive its just i would rather buy the ingrediants from a legitimate pharmacy then a online store.

Do you have a link from boldy regarding the ingredients which can be bought? I am using an official indo from a pharmacy in germany. It is dirt cheap but the potency is about 1/8 of that what ID is selling. Nevertheless I think has helped a bit to reduce shedding. I will certainly continue using it as my scalp feels a lot less itchy after applications, however I dont use it every day. Actually I use it more like every other day.

I’ll have a look for his quote. He didn’t directly list exact ingredients he just said there was much cheaper alternatives out there. i remember you saying your using a cream based indo, this correct? i have medium hair length so a spray would be easier for me to apply.

None of these things (not even the FDA’s big three) are things that you can take for a week or two and draw any conclusions.

very true.
