There’s nothing brave about shaving your head when you know it will grow back. But, it certainly says something about the public’s perception of baldness when it’s considered “brave” just to cut off your hair, nevermind enduring a permanent state of baldness.

Well if you have no shame in having a bald head then what are you doing this forum? Actress/Models constantly live in the light of public perception. They are sex symbols, their looks are their bread and butter. Further being a woman it does take a lot of courage to shave her head in the first place. How many bald headed woman you see in the street, compared to bald headed men!
Most of the breast cancer survivor do wear a wig when they lose their hair while undergoing chemo, or at least they shun public life during treatment and stay inside. If you don’t see courage in this actress’ action (shaving her head and being open about her ailment, given that she is in the biz world), I don’t think you know what bravery is!!
