Hopefully a big company like Follica does pick this up since they have funding to proceed with human trials! We will not be involved in the Human Trials, once our research has produced a conclusive report, it will be published and made available to anyone who wishes to access it. We will also be submitting it to online publications like the BMJ and PMJ.
I don’t really understand what’s going to be new about this study. It’s already been done by the researchers from UCLA and nobody chose to conduct trials on their own.

That is Astressin-2b. In the studies it had absolutely no effect on the growth of hair. That would be a waste of your money.
Samt23 - This study is actually much more important than the original study. It proves that this compound has an effect not just in mice or other creatures overproducing CRF but in many other forms of alopecia as well. Proving that this could potentially cure (well not cure, but regrow your hair for a long period of time, which in my mind is as good as a cure) many, many different forms of alopecia. This study is extremely important to companies that have the funding in order to support the human trials for this compound. Now that they know that it is also effective in other forms of alopecia and not just from overproducing CRF this could be just the boost Astressin-b needs to be picked up by some form of research group or company and really take off!
GoGiants1 - sounds great. Let us know Anything you hear back and from what companies if you don’t mind. As I have said before I am still willing to put in a couple hundred if you find somewhere cheap for a portion of it!

So now I would have to find a friend chemist with at least school type laboratory, which I haven’t got. So there we go. We’ve got America that is run by FDA type corrupt people bribed by Merc, Bosley and similar which will ensure that stuff like Astressin-b will be delayed as long as possible and stagnated to the bone Europe, which hasn’t got a clue what’s going on around.
I’m convinced that the only solution at this time is Asia. There is myriad of biotech companies in asia, especially in Singapore, Taiwan and china, like biomaster. If they could be persuaded of the benefits of astronomically cheap experiments with Astressin, they could be injecting this stuff right now.

There’s someone on xconomy who works in a biotech and obviously that means in a lab of some type, he might be able to help if you get in touch with him over there, he posts under the username hairpaper. He was going to come and join in these threads but someone warned him against it because of the way threads on here descend into childish arguments, but if anyone might be able to get the stuff it will be him.

I know Takeela mentioned saline.but on their website they do not say what medium they used to inject Astressin-b, rather that saline was used to inject other group of placebo.( The goal of the experiments was to study the effect of Astressin-B ((5 µg/mouse) injected peripherally once a day for 5 days) to determine whether it would block the effects of stress on the colon but accidental finding was the mice treated with Astressin –B had recovered the full cover of fur on the back in few weeks compared to the placebo ( injected with saline) given mice which did not recover.
Could saline kill important ingredients in Astressin-b?

GoGiants1 got a quote for 5mg at 98% purity from some website for right around $1000… I am not sure where the manufacturer is located and how “legit” it is though.
Saline is what is stated in the patent application, I know this would work fine. I’m sure you could also used distilled water as well if you were not feeling confident about the saline.
You can get a scale that goes down to .001 gram which is 1mg. So that means you will have to weight out 1mg mix it in with the medium, make sure it is mixed in very well, then only use half for all 5 of your injections, since this will equal 500ug, 100ug per injection. Scales down to this accuracy only cost $35-50, any lower it shoots up to well above $1000.
I answered how much astressin-b for human already. I would do 20X the mice dose, or 100ug per injection based on how much more we weigh than mice. (this is still kind of low if you were doing an exact ratio but better to be on the low side)
I don’t think the volume of medium should matter all that much as long as it is enough for the astressin-b to be mixed in well because once it is injected into your blood stream it doesn’t matter how much medium was injected with it just matters how much astressin-b is in your system.
I wouldn’t even inject in the scalp just do it in the arm, it’s all going to the same place, your bloodstream. This was a statement by the researchers so I know this is correct.
And I would probably have someone else do it if you know someone that has given shots before and is willing to do it. There would be less likely to rupture a blood vessel or something like that.

No, I don’t believe that it will have any effect really. It’s stable at room temperatures for a few days. Like I said I would mix the .5mg into the medium mix will then split into 5 equal parts for each injection. The 4 injections you are going to do the next 4 days I would just put in the refrigerator in order to help stability but that’s all it should take in order to keep it stable.
