Are you maintaining? Or getting worse

Just out of curiosity I thought I would ask this question

Since spending a long time on Hairsite, have you been fortunate enough to find a regimen that at least maintains what you have? Or are you still getting worse as the years pass by?

If you are maintaining, how long have you managed to maintain what you have? In other words, since you found a regimen that pretty much stops your hair loss in its tracks, how long have you managed to keep this up?

My story, I have maintained for 10 yrs now On natural DHT blockers and my vitamins minerals. I sometimes go off the regimen for a while since it is hard to find here in the Philippines but overall I would say I am maintaining, and not getting worse for 10 yrs now.

I think this is much longer than they say Rogaine and Propecia work, before they supposedly just stop being effective.

Keeping my fingers crossed

Your story?

Why would you simply want to maintain  - why not try to slow, stop, thicken and encourage growth?

There are a more and more and things out now which have the potential to help !

I didnt say the goal was to maintain
however maintaining just by itself is not easy, and most guys cannot do this and get worse year to year, gradually

however if you do manage to stop the progress of your hair loss
you almost cannot help but to reverse and improve your condition, because in order to even maintain, you have to fix some of the problems that you have.

this usually results in thicker faster growing hair, and a lot of regrowth

example if you are losing 300 hairs per day. within 6 months or so your hair will visibly thin considerably. since you only replace about 100 hairs per day

if you bring your hair fallout back to normal, and the new hairs that are growing in normally are allowed to stay on your head, your hair will thicken immensely within the first year or so

Whats your regime these days?

There are a few pathways that havent been discussed in this forum ie the upregulation of cholesterol.

Once you are the way to maintaining the best way to top up this progress is with shampoos / topicals to lower the inflammatory cascade which is making matters worse. A shampoo and possibly to rotate some topicals should help -I think Jacob has the right idea. There are a bunch of plants from the indian /chinese / european and other continents which are showing promise along with specific vitamins, minerals and aminos to help restore cellular health topically - the products makers are getting there!

I’ve been on Propecia/Rogaine for close to 9 years… I’ve been able to maintain, but I think I’m now starting to see major hair loss… i’ve been through shed cycles before but I don’t think this is a shed cycle…

Perhaps your Estradiol levels are rising after inhibiting 5ar alone, hence your losing ground?

I disagree. My success has come by working from the inside out. Focus should be, first and foremost, on an internal regimen. Topicals should be secondary, and discussed in the Topical Forum :stuck_out_tongue: .

Peter, you spend the majority of your time (years!) here talking about “things to come.” The question is whether or not you are maintaining now.

Yeah, this could be the same situation for me… i’ll have to see when the shed stops…HM will probably be available within 3 years (in my opinion)

time to up the dose

What are you smoking? That’s some good shyt :lookaround:

I believe my regimen has been maintaining my hair well since 2005.
My crown is looking slightly better to me too.

However, since my regimen it’s not all natural, I’m hesitant to post it in this section of the forum.

If the the good folks here don’t mind, I’ll be happy to share it here.
No, I haven’t discovered any new products but my current combo has ben streamlined to just what I feel is necessary for me after trying many things.

Ciao.
