Does grape seed extract work?? how much should i take? I am currently taking propecia for 7 yrs, niz 2% for one and hair vitamin( maxi hair) pumpkin seed exract at night 1000mg and scalp massages…I was on pumpkin seed extact for 2 weeks now and when i first took it it stopped myhair loss completely for like 3 days…no hairs fell out…it also stopped my hairs from curling along the hair line and looking all weird…this mornig i showered and i lost like 45 hairs or so…it freaked me out!!! is this a sign that my hair is shedding from the pumpkin seed? is this a good shed? or shed that will not grow back…ps. all the hair that fell out were normal dark hairs non miniturized…there wwere like maybe 5 miniturized ones…i dont know what to do?

If I were going to add a natural supplement to my regimene to go along with propecia it would be Saw Palmetto.
I have never heard of anyone going thru a shed from pumpkin seed extract.

OK heres the deal - the idea is to balance your hormones.
Id recommend you take Pygeum extract alongside Propecia as it should work on Estradiol. There is no logic in doubling up on inhibiting DHT !!
Monitor your progress if you dont experience the results you desire you may need to add a few things which bind to the carrier molecule SHBG, hence there will be more free T available.
If you still dont get results you may need to add something to slow the excess upregulation in the first place!

pats is right. Saw palmetto is an extremely effective supplement when it comes to hair loss. It is a proven DHT blocker in conjunction with propecia. I would highly recommend anyone to consider taking it.
I’ve been on Saw Palmetto since mid May 09 and seeing results in terms of small hairs coming through on temple areas that were not there before. I take 1 x tablet 450mg daily with 750mg MSM. This is the only DHT blocker I am on. I personally would not take it with Proscar/Propecia at the same time as both do block DHT production and there might be side effects if taken in synergy.
Both tablets [Saw Palmetto and MSM] available without prescription and from health shops. Worth a try.
