Another good news about Follica

It DOES work. And unlike ICX you can prove it for yourself. The only question is whether you can get from NW7 to NW3 or better. Follicles DO form/rejuvenate. And it’s not like minoxidil waiting for 12 months and getting a couple of vellus hairs. Fresh/rejuvenated follicles appear in a couple of weeks and immediately produce terminal hair. Some follicles more prominent than others . I’m hoping I can get my hair back with this and if I can get any measurable success, the much hairier guys on here should have a cakewalk. I’m only pondering about the size of wound now. I wounded the ENTIRE top of the scalp in one go. I’m beginning to wonder whether the Follica final protocol will require that the patient shaves his head in order to wound the entire scalp.

I am aware of that but I thought the grant was for TRC.

I am dying to know how FOLLICA will stop the new hairs from balding again.

» ICX received a grant from the UK government. The Government!

That’s actually not a great point IMO. Governments aren’t really noted for making great decisions, especially regarding money. It’s not their money (it’s yours), so it’s not a big deal if it’s a bad investment.

I think it’s a much bigger deal when an investment firm makes a large investment. It IS their money, and unlike the government, they need returns on their investments to survive.

I am really happy that it works and I believe you Baccy. As you say, the only thing now is density and coverage. When I read the articles about Follica, they said “SOME cells are returned to a more embryonic-like state”. So some, maybe that “some” is not enought in order to get a really dense hair growth? That is what they also have to figure out maybe.

But there seems to be a time factor in practice. Basically, very quick results but it’s almost like more and more follicles awaken as time goes by.
If only ‘some’ are generated/rejuvenated we may be able to get around that with repeat sessions. I’m almost ready for another crack (awaiting tannic acid) but the results from my last wounding are continuing to develop despite being more than 40 days post wounding.

Interesting point. I’m assuming that once I regain/rejuvenate follicles, at 43 years of age my DHT levels may have declined so they’ll survive this time around.

are they worth taking pictures yet Baccy?

There is obviously something in the compound that prevents this from happening.I don’t know what it is but they wouldn’t be doing this if the hairs would bald all over again

I think you are wrong. DHT levels dont decline too much before age of 70 usually.

Serum 5 alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and testosterone (T) were measured in 78 normal men aged between 12 and 89 years, separating DHT and T by celite micro-column and using reliable radioimmunoassay. In four age groups of young (20-39 years), middle aged (40-59 years) and old (60-79 years and 80-89 years) men, the mean +/- SEM for serum DHT were 98 + 12, 91 +/- 9, 82 +/- 7 and 54 +/- 15 (ng/100 ml),

That pretty much means that from 20 to almost 60 your DHT goes from 98±12 to around 91±9 or so, that is really not too significant.

I remember seeing a graph once, it was pretty flat up until 60 then it was taking a dive increasingly and around 70 it was falling down rapidly already.

In fact, most of proscar users taking it for prostate issues are between 50-65 years of age.

» maybe that “some” is not enought in order to get a really

They can control how much hair can be produced, that’s why they are also looking into using this as a means of hair removal.
Denisty will not be an issue.Look at the hair on the mouse, the hair cover is dense.
Whatever I get will be better than the laughable transparent hair cover I got from strip surgery.I am sure Follica wont scar me as strip did either.

DHT wont be an issue for the new hairs. If it was, they wouldn’t bother with this, what would be the point?
These guys are not idiots, they are aware of DHT as well & have found a way around it.The hairs will not fall out again.

These people could have left the company for any reason. I think you are reading into this too much.

Well Keving Bitterman is back again  Maybe they were updating his profile or something. Yeah I don’t think it means that much.

We should all remain cautiously optimistic about Follica. There are still no guarantees about anything.

That being said, I am extremely excited about today’s funding news. Zohar also confirmed that a trial is underway - and her description matches up with the clinical trial going on at Harvard.

There are two things that the $11 million surprise funding means to me:

  1. Clinical trials are moving forward as planned and Follica is already looking forward to the next steps after this trial. They truly are moving this along as fast as they can.

  2. Investors are very willing to give their money to Follica. I assume this means they are convinced that Follica’s treatment will work. This is a good sign.

This has been the most exciting day on this forum in months

Tipping my hat to you man…

Hope you can let us know about your experience with the wounding regardless of the outcome, etc…

I started later than planned. I did the peel this past Saturday. The peel went slightly lower on my forehead than I wanted, but I did cover the areas where I want new growth. I am going to take the gefitinib orally. I’ll post updates as appropriate.

Tagohl, did you use acid peel for wounding? If so, what %.
