Below is a post by a man who is using OC000459 (GPR44 blocker) in combo with minoxidil. He is starting to see regrowth. Keep in mind that minoxidil purportedly works by prompting the body to produce PGE2. Minoxidil can produce PGE2 in the body of someone taking OC000459 because OC000459’s mode of action is not to prevent the body from increasing Prostaglandins but rather to prevent a very specific prostaglandin (PGD2) from binding to its’ receptor (GPR44). On the other hand, a cox-inhibitor like alecbaldone’s prevents the body from producing any and all prostaglandins so theoretically minoxidil shouldn’t augment alecbaldon’s PGD2 blocker, although I really don’t know if minoxidil would work with alecbaldone’s PGD2 blocker. I don’t think it would work but I’m not sure. That having been said a PGE2 topical solution should be coming soon so alecbaldone will soon get the chance to add PGE2 to his regimen. Anyway the below post seems to indicate that adding PGE2 to alecbaldon’s PGD2 might be beneficial:
Hi, a newbie here.
I have been using rogaine for over 10 years (then added finasteride and dutesteride down the road)
They all work to slow down my hair loss but not enough to reverse it. I wish I had started the above three treatments 20 years ago. Then I would still have much more hair left.
About a year ago, I got tired of it all, and thought about the transplant and got curious about how much transplant I would need. Of course, in order to find that out, I stopped the treatments to see how much hair I had actually left. I started losing hair at an alarming rate, so I quickly resumed the treatments and to my surprise, I got back to the previously level rather quickly.
At any rate, I read up on the recent study about this asthma medicine that could stop hair loss, so I googled to see if I could track down this asthma medicine, which then led me to Ramatroban and then to this thread.
I purchased the OC when it became available. Although I had no experience concocting a vehicle, I decided I would order DMSO, glycine, and for the lack of a better alternative, a bottle of rubbing ethanol (70%), along with a chemistry set including a beaker, flask, graduated cylinder, dropper, etc.
Thanks to all the help here, I mixed the OC, and although it does not dissolve 100%, it dissolves mostly. I make about 25 ml of the solution each time and leave the solution in the fridge, while the solid OC stays in the freezer. I have been using it for about a month and have not experienced any side effect.
What is most important is that after about a week of use, I started seeing lots of baby hair (thin, light-colored) popping up in my heavily receding hairlines, and although the growth is rather slow, they have been growing continually.
I use OC and rogaine foam separately. After rogaine, I would give it 6 hours or so and then after a wash, apply OC. When applying rogaine hours after OC, sometimes I forego the hair wash.
I still use the finasteride and avodart as well.
At any rate, I hope the OC continues to work for me.
Thanks to many other members here whose posts have helped me tremendously
