Aderans aquires ICX TRC

That could make sense, even though icx studies were pointless, as far as we know.

» I agree that this was probably just a purchase of the TRC patents to keep
» them out of anyone else’s hands. In terms of intellectual property rights,
» the TRC patents were probably the closest thing to a weakness that ARI has.
» With ICX going down the toilet there was good chance someone else could
» buy them if ARI didn’t.

» It IS all about intellectual properties, because Intercytex has
» been one of the first, who filed a patent (2002) for cell injections
» against hairloss.

In addition, I imagine being able to study the trial outcomes might spark some ideas and/or help keep them from having to duplicate work that led to poor outcomes.

Intercytex’s research was not completely useless, although I think Aderans might have had more of an interest in the delivery system they designed than in hair cloning technique. $200,000 is a very good price for the bit of kit they’re acquiring.

In addition, this COULD (not sure) be a reason too:

Edit:

Sorry @AZ1984, I didn’t saw your post:

Aderans Research Acquires Intercytex Assets

(Atlanta, GA, March 24, 2010) Aderans Research Institute Inc. (ARI) announced it purchased key technology assets from Regenerative Medicine Assets Limited (formerly Intercytex Group plc), a leading UK hair regeneration company.

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb UK/PRWEB ) March 25, 2010 – Aderans Research Institute Inc. (ARI) announced it purchased key technology assets from Regenerative Medicine Assets Limited (formerly Intercytex Group plc), a leading UK hair regeneration company. The acquisition represents a significant consolidation within the hair regeneration industry, as ARI is absorbing the scientific assets of a company that was its leading competitor.

“This acquisition is a major step forward for ARI,” said Vern Liebmann, Vice President, Operations. “Through this deal, we’ve been able to consolidate the majority of key patents and know-how in the hair regeneration field, an achievement that can accelerate our ability to deliver a commercially viable product to market. This acquisition was only possible thanks to the considerable financial support of Aderans Holdings Company, Ltd., of Japan.”

The purchase includes assets related to the ICX-TRC product that Regenerative Medicine Assets Limited had been developing. ICX-TRC is an autologous hair regeneration therapy for the treatment of male pattern baldness and female diffuse alopecia.

The deal comes as ARI is expanding its Phase 2 clinical study of cell-based hair regeneration, in which it recently treated the trial’s 100th subject. “We’ve acquired important proprietary knowledge that includes Intercytex’s clinical efforts to date,” noted Ken Washenik, MD PhD, Executive Vice President. “This information should substantially augment our ongoing efforts to produce a cell-based treatment for hair loss.”

“Cellular regeneration represents the leading edge of research into hair loss,” said Kurt Stenn, MD, Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer. “Combining the knowledge stores of two of the leading companies in this field is a major step forward in our efforts to pioneer a process of cellular hair regeneration that can deliver enhanced hair growth to millions of people around the world.”

Aderans Research is a pioneer in the research and development of safe, effective cell engineered products for hair regeneration. With offices in Atlanta and Philadelphia, Aderans Research Institute is a subsidiary of Aderans Holdings Company, Ltd., the world’s largest wig manufacturer, and an affiliate of Bosley, a global leader in medical hair restoration.

This sentence sounds like music in my ears …

Oh, yeah, the robot. Thanks Iron_Man.
I didn’t mention the robot because I didn’t remember if this robot was dedicated solely to TRC or also to other things.
Now, the article you linked is clear that the robot was for TRC only.
This robot was purchased thanks to a grant from the UK government, and at that time, it was very polemic because taxpayers money was going to “balding research”.

Now, if ARI is buying TRC for 200K dollars (135K pounds), I would say the robot is NOT included.
If the robot is included, this could be a BIG scandal, because 1.85M pounds of british taxpayer’s money, would go to a private US/Japanese company for 1/13 of the original price.

» If the robot is included, this could be a BIG scandal, because …

hmmm, sounds like its time for you to email Aderans again - email subject: “BIG scandal!!!”

I think you exaggerate the situation somewhat. The Government makes good and bad investments in research all the time. £1.85m is a tiny amount of money to the Treasury anyway. It was money well spent anyway, because for once the Government decided to put some money into men’s issues rather than women’s like they normally do. Plenty of money is p*ssed up a wall for women’s trivial issues every day, so there’s no reason a bit couldn’t be spent for men’s issues.

LOL, I couldn’t agree more. In Spain we know what is like to have a government who is obsessed with “helping women” to get their votes.

But I wasn’t critizising the fact that the uk gov. invested money into baldness.

I was just wondering if ICX sold the robot to ARI for less than 1/13 of its original price. If this was the case, I think the matter should be investigated.

To be honest, it will be investigated by the liquidator quite thoroughly, but it will probably be found that the investment just depreciated over time. It’s possible they might get money back in the form of plant and machinery anyway, as the company did make a declaration of solvency so far as I am aware meaning creditors will get all their money back.

Women’s issues in Spain are absolutely insane aren’t they? I heard you have some ridiculous law where half of a board of directors must be women, but there is no such law for male directors? How any right minded person can call that equality, I do not know!

Can the robot depreciate 90% of its value in 4 years? (from 10 to 1)

I didn’t know ICX’ creditors will get all their money back.
I assumed all was lost, as ICX never got to sell any product (except Vavelta, maybe).

about feminism in Spain, I have just checked the data for you.
yes, there is a 2007 law that forces companies bigger than 250 employees, to have between 40% and 60% female directors. So, females can’t be below 40% but can’t be above 60% neither. The same goes for the list of candidates in elections.
This law is from 2007, and must be implemented by 2015.

There is another law against “genre violence” that protects only women against men, but not the contrary. This is really discriminatory. If you have married a neurotic woman who psychologically attacks you, you can’t defend yourself. If you get a divorce, she will get your home and children, and you will have to pay her money every month.

Also, the socialist government has created a “ministry of equality” to deal with these issues, and make feministic propaganda. Its main “offer” is to “protect women” against evil men who mistreat and discriminate them.

The media supports all this views, and is constantly highlighting cases of women who were killed by their mates. (50 deaths /year).

Is this topic YOUR problem ???

“Investigating, emailing, eliminating, terminating? …” - man, it seems you have bigger problems than I just hair loss …

your stupid provocations have no effect whatsoever on me anymore.:expressionless:
