What surprises me about all the Acell enthusiasm on this site is that it is almost totally found on the HM forum instead of here. If Acell works half as well as the hype, scalps that have been scarred by old HT methods can be restored. In my case, I just have four moderate scars from previous strip sessions. But, I will absolutely have those scars cut out and use Acell if it is shown to be effective.
I’d like to see the reputable doctors that post here run private studies using the stuff. H&W, for example, do strip procedures exclusively (I think) and have a great opportunity to turn the subtle scars they are known for into no scars.

Hi Rick,
I’m surprised by the lack of enthusiasm on this board too. But, I know that there are docs (who do post on this board) that have received shipments of Acell and I would assume are trying it out. Maybe they are waiting for some results before they post anything about it.

I wonder if those docs who haven’t looked into Acell would order it for a patient upon request. I am tempted to go to H&W for a scar revision on my smallest scar, use Acell in combination with their supposedly excellent scar closing techniques, and see whether it heals quicker than normal and what the scar looks like when it has healed. Some claims about Acell certainly seem to suggest there would be no scar at all (that the incision would heal as virgin flesh with hair growing).
Nobody has seen any FDA document about the trials, even Acell’s website does not have that information, it is exciting but I am concerned about tumor growth or other diseases that can be passed onto humans from pigs.

Take Care,
Bill
Tell me about it. It seems that the same people that would delve into the realm of evasive hair transplants are suddenly weary of non evasive options like Acell.
Than you have people that will raise a stink Acell could be harmful because its made from pigs bladders… only to go home to eat a big, steamy plate of growth-hormone-fortified pork sausages. The whole damn world we built is killing us… from the tupperware we microwave to the cellphones we use, to the meat we eat.
In light of all the garbage we’re forced to face daily, I fail to see the reservations towards Acell. Nobody’s claiming it will grow hair, but it IS available for human use.
