Dear piperz,
Size, if the overall proportions are balanced, will not make much difference.
However, most of us are not perfectly proportioned.
Some have a bigger frontal area compared to the donor. Now here, the larger the overall skull, the more disadvantageous the situation.
Others may have a smaller forehead compared to the occiput/back of head regions. These are the more fortunate ones in respect of donor availability.
However, please remember that both the above scenarios that I mentioned are rare.
For the majority, the skull size makes little/no difference.
Smaller skull = less recipient surface area = less donor area.
In the end, each case has to be planned on an individual basis.
» piperz, Armani’s specialty is younger guys in their twenties while Arvind
» can create hairlines for any age group.
That’s exactly what I wanted to say, Dr. A can create an age-appropriate look for almost any age. Granted, Armani’s front loading design looks absolutely stunning but I am in my late 40s and I would look ridiculous having a head of hair like that. I don’t need a lot of hair on top, just the age-appropriate look. So far I am most impressed with Dr. Cole and Dr. A, I think they can produce a variety of looks for any given age, something that I haven’t seen Armani doing.
I’m 28 and I need a lot of hair on top. Despite that I wouldn’t mind a thinning look or a mature hairline. I just think that I’m more of a hairline based transplant kind of guy. I would not mind having a thinning looking crown if the rest looks ok.
I see what you mean by age appropriate look, but sometimes I feel like a couple of grafts more on the front can make a huge difference in the overall appearance of a person’s face.
An hairline that is too weak is not pleasing to look at. The same is true for hairlines that look far too thick for the person’ s age.

Yes but it does make one look a bit like a monkey.

Yes but it does mean that less follicles are needed so it might be cheaper
As you may guess, I have a small sloping forehead and a small skull overall. That kind of makes me a midget type monkey. Although this is an advantage from your discription, it is quite important that I have ahead of hair because a midget bald monkey really leaves a lot to be desired.
if you want the best hairline, Armani is the one. However, he does seem to have this “one hairline fits all” approach for his patients. I see Muscleboy’s hairline is quite similar to Ninjaxan and a bunch of other guys on Armani’s website. If that s the style u want, u can’t go wrong.
