The scar on the top of his head in the crown areas he had from birth, the linear scar on the side was from a previous HT with another doctor who took the strip to place in the top scar grafts into the top scar but resulted in little to no growth. Dr. B used 333 scalp FUE to place into both scarred areas.
» Yes, fantastic. Do you know why it didn’t work the first time? What did
» Dr. B do differently this time?
Hi garyg,
We did not perform the first procedure so can only speculate as to why it didn’t work. Possibly they tried to place too many grafts in the scar tissue effectively suffocating them before they had a chance to survive, or perhaps the placement or handling of the grafts was not too good. Placing into scar tissue is different to virgin skin and more care must be taken in the placement of the graft into the skin.
The shame is for such a small procedure he then ended up with 2 scars for the price of one. The FUE procedure he had with Dr. B has at least allowed him to cover them both, but a shame about the strip being taken for such a small number of grafts in the first place.
