2 new exciting ACELL photographs

These are two newer pictures on their site that weren’t there a few months ago:

http://www.acell.com/vetcases/reality.html

Notice the new hair growing over the wound?

Here is another at a mere 30 days-----with hair growth restarting at the periphery of the wound,
http://www.acell.com/vetcases/bravo.html

WHAT IS SO EXCITING ABOUT ACELL’S PHOTOS WITH THESE ANIMALS IS THAT THESE ANIMALS ARE NOT SCID MICE (IMMUNODEFICIENT MICE) BUT ANIMALS WITH FULLY WORKING IMMUNE SYSTEMS, WHICH IS ONE OTHER VARIABLE THAT IS APPARENTLY HURDLED WITH ACELL.

I dont mean to sound overconfident, but I’d be honestly SHOCKED if ACELL didn’t at least work back in donor areas to regerate hair (something like large FUE-holes or even small strips that have gauzes affixed to them–but not closed). I dont know about regrowing hair on MPB-scalp (although that would be great). This really SHOULD work in the back of someone’s head. I’d be suprised if it didn’t.

If it is good, then it might even work without HT .Simply, with a wounding?
thanks…

hey guys, are we living in the ‘moment of the truth’?

just a couple of weeks ago i was thinking that ‘HM’ or another treatment was at least 3~4 years away, and all of sudden i’m struck with good news

ofcourse, i don’t mean to be over-hyped for acell, but it is certainly exciting.

so if this percedure works with dermabrasion, then what happens to Follica?

i guess only time will tell. hopefully soon, we will see Bruce Willis and all members on this board with crazy spikey hair dos

I don’t want to douse anyone’s hopes, but those pictures have been on their site for a while. I put both of them in the e-mail that I’m sending to the doctors. I feel the same way that you do, Benji. I don’t want to be overconfident either, but it sure makes sense that it will work. Also, after talking with the company, they are “confident” that it will regrow removed donor tissue and hair. Although they did remind me that we are trying to regrow human hair vs. animal fur or animal hair.

When I saw pictures like these on their website, I was too impressed not to at least call the company and see what they thought about it. They think that it should work. Obviously, a few doctors think that it has potential also. This has made me think that it should work too. Hopefully this turns out to be the case and if it does, I see it as a “cure”. Time will tell.

does this mean it will do that in humans

It seems to regrow the hair in the area pretty much like it was or at least thereabouts…the thing is, like Maneless has commented, will it merely regrow bald skin where there was bald skin? I have no idea. I wish it would grow hair in the front where one is bald…but will the hair have the same genetics as before and start to minaturize shortly thereafter? I dont know…

Many of us are excited about a combo hair transplant, with ACELL used on the FUE-holes or used on top of where a strip was removed, but not resewn-----just affixed with a gauze in the back of the head or something in hopes that the donor area skin would regenerate just like it was. The FUE-approach would be the one I’d hope for personally.

Hangin,

Even the genious of the most genious cant have a final answer right now ! how in a world can you have it while everybody else is waiting ? do you have some information that even Dr Jones is not aware of ?

are you the real maneless or impostor? why are you still posting? i thought hairsite banned you months ago.

yes Benji, the fact that these animals are NOT immunodepressed, and neogenerated hair can grow in presence of an immune system, is something significant. we will see if humans can grow hair too.

Max,

I’m gonna give a PROJECTION here, my projection is based on previous Acell record. It seems almost certain for me that we will know if Acell is working one MONTH after Dr Jones starts the trials.

I’m with you. I’m not 100% sure yet but it’s very promising and if it works it could be available to us soon. Amazing.

What???

Guys,

I can understand the questions that you have about about Acell. I think that we all feel the same way…the pictures look promising and the story about the finger regrowth is remarkable, but we are afraid to get to get our hopes too high (only to be let down again).

At this point, it is time to do our part. I’ve posted above that the members of this forum could be a huge help by searching for HT doctors in their area and sending the stock e-mail to them. Most of the work is already done, all you have to do is:

  1. Find 5-10 doctor’s e-mail addresses in your area

  2. Copy and Paste the stock e-mail to your outgoing e-mail box

  3. Make the few changes need in the e-mail (Doctor’s name and your name)

  4. Send the e-mails

I want to do this because I want to make SURE that all of the possible protocols for the use of Acell are attempeted to see which one works best. I’m afraid that if only a few doctors try Acell (and make any mistakes in the best possible use of the extracellular matrix) and don’t get the results that we think may be possible, that the project will be “scrapped”. In other words, I’m afraid that Acell may be given FALSE NEGATIVE results if misused. I really don’t think that this will happen, but I’d rather be safe than sorry and the best way to do so would be to have as many HT doctors as possible try it.

Furthermore, if it does work, you’ll be glad that HT doctors in your area are using the product. This may give you more options as to who would do your surgery.

Take Care,
Bill

I don’t think there is a problem. I think this will probably work to give us an unlimited donor supply. But we can’t be 100% sure until we get a ht doctor to harvest flaps from patient’s donor area and then uses ACELL to regenerate skin/hair in the part of the donor area where he removed the flaps. What docs do at the present time is they suture and close the area, but we would want the doctor instead to put ACELL on the area to see if the Acell can refill the area with skin/hair. If it does, then we have an unlimited donor supply.
