1300 CIT on Norwood 6 patient- Photo results

This Norwood 6 patient began hair restoration surgery with us in the earlier part of 2007. The patient underwent a two-day session where approximately 1300 CIT grafts were transferred onto the frontal-third to conservatively restore density on the front. The hair line was created by the delicate placement of single hairs followed by two hair follicular units. The attached photos depict 10 months of matured hair growth on the recipient area. The patient recently returned in 2008 to conservatively restore density on the crown and vertex. We are satisfied to know that the patient is happy with the current growth.

Hi Marco,

We have performed approximately 2100 cases of this particular non-strip method of hair transplantation. With our experience comes speed and perfection. This particular patient recieved a total of approx. 1300 non-shaven CIT grafts. I apologize for not specifying this in the previous post. We currently have the ability to consistently transplant 1500 grafts on a patient in one day. This particular patient had a non-shaven method performed over two days. We now offer patients a basic CIT method and can transplant about 1000 of the non-shaven CIT grafts per day. As shown in the photo below, you can see that this patient didn’t need to have the donor area shaved and no sign of the extractions is present. Things are consistently improving at our clinic.

When was the donor video taken? a few days after surgery ?

» When was the donor video taken? a few days after surgery ?

The video was taken after the first session of 1300 CIT and before any extractions were done during the second session. The first session and second session are 10 months apart.

Man I thought that was taken a few hours after the surgery, can you show what the back looks like a few hours after surgery with the no shave technique?

The donor looks pristine after 10 months, no argument. But it doesn’t make sense that you are advertising C2G and you don’t show us what the donor looks like immediately post op.

Here are some immediate post-op photos showing donor area:

Great video. How many more grafts can you harvest from his donor?

Not sure we can take much from the video of the donor cos we can’t compare to what it was like before; maybe the density was twice as thick, any chance you have a video of before with the same thing, comb in the hair.

Canadadry,

After over 1500 CIT cases performed, we have developed our techniques and studied many aspects of this procedure that insure consistent quality results. Each patient is different as well as a given donor area. We offer a wide variety of techniques and tools in order to achieve consistent results regardless of the donor area characteristics.

This patient’s donor area was analyzed before it was harvested. The patient’s donor density was measured at 170 hairs per square centimeter with 180 being about the average. Only a small percentage of follicular units were taken from specific regions of the patient’s donor area. Usually an entire donor can have about 20% of the overall density harvested before you begin to see any noticeable thinning. A large percentage of patients can have up to 4000 scalp grafts harvested before seeing obvious thinning on the donor.

I didn’t say it was bad although I thought it looked thin. all I said was how can we say if it is good or bad when we need to see the before video to compare; no different from showing a after result with no before totally irrelevant.

That is a great cosmetic improvement considering only 1300 grafts were used. Nice job with the angles of the grafts used to recreate the swirl of the crown as well.

canadadry,

I have attached the pre-op photos of both sessions where you may clearly judge whether or not there is a cosmetic difference. The video was made to document the actual healing of the donor as well as the overall appearence. The video also shows where the extraction of hair occurred and solidifies the fact that the patient could wear a shorter hair style without an unsightly donor scar being revealed. Donor areas should be preserved and protected for the consideration of future hair loss.

oh yeah, great result considering the amount of work. Top notch video of the donor as well!
